I came home from work on Friday to find a fish on my lawn, like you do......about 4-5 inches long from nose to tail. I have cats including a tom who is a hunter and so just assumed it was him, the bugger. In fact, I found one on our drive previously and also blamed him.

Any how, I called my wife over to show her the fish, when all over a sudden there was a slight movement of it's gills. I immediately filled a bucket of water and over the next hour or so, it started to swim.

My daughter then contacted a neighbour who had a pond, albeit with no fish and we asked that we put it in there, which we did. I received texts yesterday morning and last night to say the fish is doing fine

Interestingly, I have since heard that it was probably a heron that had taken the fish and dropped it and so not only has it survived out of water for a period of time, it also also survived being dropped from a considerable height

Thought I'd share my good news story with you all on this glorious sunny morning (in chessington) bbolt

I'm not clever enough to think of it like that but hey, just may be a summary of pools season

Not sure I should keep checking that it's okay now though bbolt
