An article about 28 clubs in England being registered abroad possibly for tax avoidance. Says pools are registered in jersey I thought it was British virgin islands or somewhere further afield?.

"Hartlepool United
Independent Oilfields Rentals IOR Limited owns the club, registered in Jersey.

Response from club “The ultimate owning company is in Jersey, but the club is owned by UK company IOR Ltd. IOR bought the club for football and business reasons; it was never the intention to sell the club at a gain and that has never been possible with a League One or Two club. Even if it had been, IOR Ltd are not in the business of avoiding any tax due to HMRC.”"

Someone mentioned on here a few weeks ago that a couple of years ago it changed.

I suppose it's probably down to how the Oil Industry has changed in the last few years that IOR have had to change what they do. Same company just a name change.

There are 2 IOR's,
Increased Oil Recovery, based in Aberdeen
Industrial Oilfield Rentals, the parent company of Pools registered in the Virgin Islands. Ken Hodcroft is the Chairman of both. It was covered recently on this forum.
