DON'T GET ME GOING ABOUT RADIO FECKING ARSE LICKING RADIO TOTALLY BORER CLEVELAND........THAT STATION, that pathetic, sychophantic, ignorant, tedious excuse for 'local' radio that wears it's loyalty firmly on it's sleeve and has the nerve to say it covers Pools and darlo too, finally pushed the boundaries too far on Saturday
After more or less ignoring our promotion achievemant while various pundits raked through the bones of the borers performance and interviewed various noneties and sort the opinions of various ex players, we were finally given a brief mention at nearly half five......
There's only one team in this area and it aint Pools...come Friday night they'll be at the Vic telling us how they cover Pools home and away with full match coverage...I bet they wouldn't if the Borers were playing though rage

TFM's usually OK now for post match calls but Winter had me punching the car radio when he goes on about Pools promotion being 'good for Tees Valley football' or words to that effect.
WHAT THE FOOK IS TEES VALLEY FOOTBALL????? you achieve something and they wanna piece of the action ....fook right  off

I see it this way. Any Boro fan interested in their game yesterday would have been at the game, certainly not listening to Radio Cleveland.

No-one is interested in non-league football or local rugby to any major extent, so who exactly wants a 5-10 minute report on it?

Pools are playing hundreds of miles away and took roughly 1000 fans which would leave 4000-5000 wanting to know what's going on.

I would completely boycott this station if Joe Allon and Brian Arundale were not on it.

Boro are at home to Spurs (Meaningless game) on the 28th whilst we are away to Rochdale (Possible title winning day). Bear in mind that there will be some amount of Poolies not able to make the trip over the pennines. I'll bet right now that they cover the meaningless Boro match whilst Pools get 2 minute updates every 15 minutes.

It also makes me laugh when Boro don't have a game, but they still put a 15 minute interview with Keith Lamb on. As if there are thousands of Boro fans listening to Radio Cleveland when they don't even have a game!

Your spot on mate, The even worst thing about that is, Borer fans that dont go to the match tend to listen to Bramley & Slaven on Century!

Why do we need 2 stations covering 1 game, I think they should give the rights to one or other freeing maybe Cleveland to do the other 2 teams in the North East!

they already did that a few years ago, cleveland COULDN'T transmit live commentary on the smogmeisters' games. However they were so upset about this, that they have probably paid a covert obscene amount of money somewhere along the line to get their broadcasting rights back from Century. Fuc-ki-ng a-rs-eholes.

Boro have a hell of a lot stay away fans or people who are interested in Boro but don't go to the game so there is a massive audience for radio to cater for. But like has already been stated ALL Boro fans listen to Alaister Brownlee rather than the knobhead on radio cleveland.

I don't have a problem with Boro post match interviews etc but full commentory on the Boro is taking the piss. Apart from spamming their email with complaints, what else can be done?

i once sent an e mail to the guy in charge of cleveland stating every complaint on this thread
borer not even playing etc and the simple answer was we have a contract with Borer
maybe even now we are not thought of as being big enough
and the borer who i i have always always thought of as being a good second division team still get blanket coverage
even now when they look to be out of their depth

in fact, the vast majority go down the boozer and watch it on al-jazeera - or whatever its called - tv. hence why the stadium is getting as empty as Darlo's!!

It totally narks me though. I noticed yesterday that Danny Wilson spoke to Jeff Winter on TFM BEFORE talking to Radio Borer. Says it all really!

I would also like some national recognition for the achievements this season. If it had been Brighton or someone in the London area, the papers would have been full of it!

Stupid southern based press!

PACK OF CHUNTS. rage rage

Coundn't agree more with your comments. I forked out £600 for a computer so i could listen to poolsworld becuause i got so fed of listening to radio middlesborough. As you say Middlesboro had nothing to play for. were playing a meaningless bottom to mid-table game and got beat. So fukin what! They keep saying that they are the only station who follows pools. Yes when it fucking suits them like when the smoggies arent playing. Like someone else said, i like Arundale and Joe Allon has some good crack but what about pools fans who can't afford, or don't what a PC. Ok buying mine was the best thing i ever did as it has opened up new opportunities but there are alot of older and not so well off poolies out there who probably have to rely on teletext. Not a great way to treat them is it! Wait until 5.30 for the reaction from Danny. There should have been there if not in its entirety but straight after the game. Who gives a tinkesrs toss about Gareth Southgate any how and the boro are so boring i would rather eat paint.! Get a grip Cleveland! Your an absolute disgrace to the region.

We can hardly blame the southern media when our own north eastern media don't give a toss... Radio Cleveland even have a pitch side reporter, why?, do they see something different?..... what about a players tunnel reporter and go completely over the top. We even had the insult of a Stagecoach Hartlepool bus riding around the town with Radio Cleveland advertising their in depth reporting of the Borers...... aren't they aware we have a team here or are they so out of touch at their borocentric HQ?

I've vented fury at them enough though. We shouldn't be ignored by anyone. If ronaldinho had scored the goal that Williams did against the Doils it would have been broadcast worldwide to millions of people.

It just bugs me! rage

I believe there's also a hidden agenda for these three clubs. They would quite happily see Hartlepool and Darlington disappear from existence, because (stupidly) they think that it means they will absorb the Pools and Darlo fans into their ranks!!!!!!! So I believe that the media is being controlled by them, in respect to the level of publicity they are giving to Pools and Darlo. Imagine how much the local radio/tv/press would squeal if they were barred from their grounds?? It HAS happened when these so-called big clubs have somehow been upset by them in the past.

Part of the problem with the commercial stations like Century is that they look for the biggest audience - and as far as sport goes, the big three have a lot more fans than Pools. As a result, they will be thinking more fans=bigger audience=more advertising. Unless we had a station that actually saw Hartlepool (the town) as a big part of its core audience that is unlikely to change.

Cleveland however is a different matter. As part of the BBC they are supposed to be a Public Service Broadcaster, and in my eyes that should mean covering things that the commercial stations won't but that are still of interest to a significant number of people. Coverage of Pools (and Darlo) fits that bill, and I think that we can justifiably be annoyed with whoever is making the editorial decisions there. Unfortunatley I think they too are playing a numbers game - and unless Pools were suddenly in the Championship, in a 10K capacity ground that they were filling every week, I doubt they'd up the current level of coverage at all. Even then, it might only be to put us on a level with the local Rugby.

Radio Cleveland is changing it's name to BBC Tees.

You heard it here first.

To be fair to them they did have Danny Wilson on choosing the tracks of his years.

He picked a song by Eternal and I switched the radio off :uhoh:
