York were a poor outfit and there to be beaten; no quality from Pools today - very disappointed.

That's why I don't watch us away from home any more. Gutless bottlers. That's what they are

York were shite, should have battered them...

However, if you had offered us this position 5/6 weeks ago you would have snapped anyone's hand off.

It is still in our hands.

Here's hoping that the pack of bottlers don't bottle it when the inevitable last day stick or bust game at Carlisle occurs....

No it's not. We were poor going forward. Its been our problem for years and will be the main reason we go down if we do. Other than that we controlled the match and were hit with a sucker punch.

Gutless? Nah
Lacking quality? Absolutely

Concerned by our inability to score and the fact that Tranny have 2 very winnable games coming up vs Mansfield and at home to Oxford and we have 2 tougher ones vs Accrington and Luton

Without 3 pts tuesday we could end up being 5 points adrift again with 2 games left and a vastly inferior goal difference

As Chip suggests today could be on that bites us on the arse at the end of the season

Can't fault the effort today whatsoever but we lack aggression, determination and desire to win York were a piss poor team and never actually got in our box in the second half, the goal was a fluke but at least the attempted to shoot at goal. We on the other hand refused to shoot we must be the best #sideways passing tea in the league,I have never seen a team who passed the ball from one side of the 18 yard box to the other so much. It's all about having the bottle now and stepping up to the mark. If we don't shoot we don't score simple, I think we all new this was going to end up depending on the final game of the season at Carlisle - disappointing as it has been today we are still live in hope .

Whats with the doom and gloom. We were fead and buried weeks ago but weve give ourselves a fighting chance. Unfortunately i cluldnt get a ticket today so cant comment on the performance but it was always going to be one of those games that could of went anyway. At the emd of the day its still in our hands and although it does look bow like its 2 of 3 to go down, i feel 6 or 7 pts might be enough, if that. Bring on accrington on tuesday.

To lose a game as big as it was to a goal like that really does some up this season...................

We spurned a massive opportunity, York looked a truly dreadful team who scored a fluke of a goal from about the only time the got near our box in the entire second half. Yes the red card was harsh they are a shit team.

We passed it sideways time and time again without anyone having the bottle to have a pop.

...and thats frustrating that its an opportunity missed but its gone now. We are still out the relegation zone and iys accrington at home next. If we win that we are well on our way to staying up.

Accy won't be easy. They're a team of grafters who won't roll over.

I feel like yesterday was a killer blow and the players' confidence has ebbed away a bit since the Southend game.

We must get back on it for Tuesday because if we don't win, regardless as to how Tranny get on, I think we're going down. Mansfield have lots of injuries, too. Tranmere will not have a better chance.

Yesterday was such a missed opportunity and I really feel upset and angry about it, so much so that my recently-found positivity is wearing thin.

We must back the players to the hilt on Tuesday, no moaning, no having a pop at individuals. They need all the help they can get.

Gutted .

The only thing that goes up with 'big games' is some fans misplaced expectations. The size of the game is irrelevant, I can't remember going there and winning....so I turned up yesterday in a state of wariness...as per usual. I wasn't surprised... it's football.

Been going to York since the early 80's and pools have played like that on just about every occasion so I was not surprised just frustrated, I thought hugill looked well off the pace and he confirmed it to Ivan ( didn't train for 4 days). But we need to have a pop at goal..tshibola looked like ray Wilkins always looking for a side pass..I love Ronnie but his subs were far too late and Harewood should have been shot on, not Jones.

I've never ever seen us win at York and didn't expect us to yesterday but when they went to 10 that changed my expectations. Never in a million years did I envisage a loss from that stage.

No one from the midfield was brave enough to carry the ball forward. Or good though.

I don't mind 3/5/2 as a solid organised formation, but with 15 to go against 10 men chasing the game the last thing you want too see is duckworth n Austin our furthest forward players.

Moore has done well to get us organised n 3 at the back does that, it just leaves us a little lacking going forward.

Franks carries the ball looks right or left n has no winger as an outlet.

At home on Tuesday we need 3 points n have to go for it. I'd ditch this formation or make it a 3/4/3 instead of the wing backs be a bit more bold.

Funny you should say that, was saying exactly in the pub after the game, so many of the York games over the years could of been the same game, all carbon copies of each other. My son is 22 now but I remember taking him to York in 99 or 2000 when we they won 1-0 in last minute, seem to remember Jamie Coppinger was playing for us,that game was identical to yesterdays, as have been many of the others since.

To pedestrian, no one brave enough to take the game by the scruff of the neck. We really shouldn't have lost, I could accept the Southend loss as we had a good go, but yesterday arrrrghhh not acceptable :/ I fear it could prove costly

Was that when proctor was on loan for them?

I seem to remember him ripping us to bits there

This one Phil, I actually thought it was 1-0 but it seems it was 2-1

This is one you thinking of.

Did anyone notice at half time they were only watering the side of the pitch we were to defend 2nd half, my mate said yes our subs were having to run around the sprinklers to practise, whereas their's weren't. I countered by saying they probs wanted to make our half of the pitch heavy so our lads would tire quicker late on.
