As manager of Pearl Bar I can assure it was an absolute nightmare to watch ha! We were 6-2 down at half time, got to 8-7 with 10 minutes to go, had a clear penalty turned down then they go up the other end and score. We went all out attack and was exposed at the back so conceded another 2 and then scored in the last minute.

Crazy crazy game.

6-2 we defeated the raglan. Sets is up nicely for our game against joe macs team on Tuesday.

Pitch was terrible as per compared to the lush carpet of rovers

We are going to have the bare 11 on Tuesday. Few of our lads in Magluf (including Ash Holland) and a lot work away during the week.

Compared to the shag pile we were trying to play on it was a decent carpet.

Depends which pitch you are talking about, Rovers played on King George today which is on par with rest of town while Supporters played on Grays 2nd enclosure which they share with Rovers and that indeed looks a lot better than anything else at the minute.

Yeah I'm on about the 2nd enclosure.

We were coasting 3 up today when our centre mid tried to pass the ball back to the keeper, it got caught in the grass n virtually stopped dead, their striker ran through n scored. On a better surface its a standard back pass to the keeper then clear but on these pitches your playing against the other team and the pitch.

We'll still continue to pass it about chip you've seen what were like on the old boys pitch pre season. N well try n do it again on Tuesday against joe macs team... It's just a bit frustrating on these farmers field pitches.

The Rec is a disgrace surely they can be cut every two weeks then the grass won't be left on top!

I think the Rec now has something to do with the FE college not sure if they bought it outright or not but the poor state up there can't be fully blamed on council.

Think there is 38 teams in the 3 leagues this year all paying £500ish pitch fees give or take a few like the Blackhall teams / Tech who look after their own pitches. That should be at least £15,000 to provide changing rooms for two hours a week and get the pitches short enough and cleared of dead grass.
I may be missing something but surely we deserve a cut, cleared pitch with visible lines as a minimum for our pitch fees.

Just makes it even more shocking, the size of the changing rooms at the Rec are stupid you end up taking turns to get changed. Haven't had a problem with the showers they always seem to be hot enough although they are twice the size of the changies so could probably have used the space better.

No matter how many times teams complain about the pitches nothing ever gets done. You'd think for the start of the season they would be in decent condition.

It's no wonder alot of teams struggle and fold. Financially running a Sunday league club is a nightmare, luckily we get a bit of help from the Pearl Bar but still have to take into account things like balls, tape and other equipment. £477 is a lot of money and we don't see much return for it. Poor refs and poor pitches. Our shared pitch is a nightmare for losing balls, if you don't have some crafty bugger on your team who can climb the fence its tough getting the ball back.

Cant you all just stop paying and playing and surely they will be forced into action? Sounds an utter disgrace. They must be making money from it?

Head to Head (as Pearl Bar/Rafa)

Played 3 (1 match abandoned )
Pearl Bar won 2
RAFA won 1

Should be a good game!

tuesday night games are never a fair reflection on a teams ability, they are always a bit flat i reckon, mostly teams have players missing n after a full day work everyones flagging by 75 minutes.

thankfully we are only missing 2/3 tonight but i know joes team are missing more.

Ref gave us everything which was kind of him, but sadly didn't help us that much. That was our 4th game in 9 days, majority of our lads either in Magaluf or working. None of the lads too disheartened but it's tough with alot of lads injured and fitness struggled massively in the 2nd half...

I wore my best shirt and everything.

how did into the blue get on?

obviously very pleased with the performance of our lads and the clean sheet. Was as good a performance as i've ever seen by us.

N the keeper got a touch on the cross which took it out my path.

p.s. i was man of the match.
