Reported that players average weekly wage is £375.00. So that's life in the Conference.

I heard from a good source that Pools offered Micky Nelson £400 pw basic in the close season and he was going to accept but Colin Cooper pulled the offer as he wanted to sign Parnaby instead.

I know colin cooper said at the begining of season he fought hard with hodcroft to get the players a good win bonus.
There was a few rumours going round earlier in season that the new basic contracts are shit but they can boost there wages with the win bonuses.

Another good deal for hodcroft seen as we havent won many games this season!

Also heard that Parnaby is on four times the wage we offered Nelson and when we offered him a big pay off he refused as he would receive more if he saw his contract out.

anyone know how long parnabys contract is? finger crossed we only gave him a year, but i doubt it

its unbelievable how a 32 years can have made only 156 league appearances in his entire career. brad walker must be half way there at 19.

how can you offer a contract to a player with such a bad injury record? with a bit of luck he'll be going into retirement at the end of the season

Some of the younger players are on around £200 a week. Not including their starting bonus' and win bonus.

James Constable rumoured to be on about £2,000 a week there. Jack Midson probably earns a decent amount there, too.

I know its not attractive for players getting a low basic wage but does that not just signal a lack of ambition from them as well. It doesn't give them security of a set wage but surely they have to have the ambition, desire and belief to be playing regularly and getting goals/clean sheets depending on what bonuses they get wouldn't be a problem.

What a load of bollocks anyone who would take a high bonus structure over a higher basic wage in any job wants their head looking at. At the end of the day guaranteed money at end of month pays the bills and creates a more stable home life. £200 a week is fuck all to live on.

His contact is up end of season although we have an option to extend for another year. ... wouldn't bank on that like!

Pools should of had of annual turnover of about £2 million last season.
So FFP allows £1 million to be spent on players wages this season roughly 20 grand a week.We got a very small playing squad with a lot of yougsters and players from non league so i cant imagine the wage bill being anywhere near the 20k mark..

It should be more or less the same next season so if we offload the deadwood in May there should be scope to bring in some decent players to get out of league two at the top end.

We are staying up by the way
