I think 5,000 is overly optimistic we only got 4,800 then 4,900 the last two games of last year when it was a fiver.

Hopefully it it will add 500-600 on the gate with a couple of hundred away fans get us up over 4,000.

You also need to look at how many more pay on the gate. Most of the increase may just be absentee ST holders. If it's only £12 for away fans then Pools could actually lose out financially.I hope not but let's see.

Confirmation that you are, to be fair a fairly successful, wind up merchant.

If you have geniune concerns about that........

I reckon 3,750 - 3,900 including Mansfield support given that we are competing the egg shaped ball game. I'd rather be watching Pools anyday over that dreadful game!

I've managed to sell Pools vs Southend to a couple of Sunderland lads I know coming up for Easter weekend derby from Bristol way to join me on Easter Monday for their footie fix.

Who really cares how many turn up - all that matters is that three more points are in the bag by 5:00pm - all else is irrelevant and anything less represents failure.

Why?
Or us it that I forgot that all the money goes into Hodcroft and Greens pockets?

That wasn't the point I was trying to get across. But if you want to make more of it then that's your perogative!

The only important thing is three points the fact we might make less on the gate (which we won't we'll make more it only takes 100 to pay at £12 or £10 to make up for us for at least one game not having the life of away fans) is way down the list of priorities.

Relegation will cost the club the thick end of a million quid a year if we don't come back straight away. It twisted logic as a fan to be concerned about that in our position let's get the place as full as and as intimidating as we can.

They'll make more though I'd have thought.

I agree the 3 points is the only thing that matters but I still don't get what was wrong with what I posted.

The match day ticket prices are borderline mental. Anyone can see that asking for £25 to sit and watch the worst team in the football league is ridiculous and short sighted. So they have finally shown some common sense and reduced them.

If you think that they'll lose money because of this then I fail to see your logic. Yes they are taking less over the gate in the away end but you are talking 200 people who are not all full price adults. It only takes an extra 100 or less Pools fans paying in to cover that. Also of those extra Pools fans I'm sure some will have a beer and a pint. We have 3,000 season ticket holders if you look at our crowds on a Saturday they are around 3,000-3,200+ away support showing hardly anyone pays in. Why would you part with £25 to watch the tripe that's been served up in recent years? Even the TMH dodge pots saw this.

I fail to see why a supporter in our position is concerned though about what they take over the gate. You either have a very strange agenda or are on the wind up. Our priority should be getting behind the team in this position and the more bodies in the ground to do that the better in my eyes.

The only thing that is important at this stage is getting points however we can. The best way to do that is to have as many people behind Pools as possible and as many people getting at the opposition as possible. In terms of away fans how ca you measure if Pools have lost out? More people might choose to travel with there being lower prices? Geoff - just chill and have faith in Ken - I'm sure he knows what he is doing.....

My point was, will the extra fans through the gate be those who actually pay on the day or be those who have season tickets but haven't been coming along. I don't know the answer to this but I will be surprised if there are queues of people handing over money at the turnstiles even at a reduced price. I hope I am wrong on this.

I agree entirely that £25 is far to high - that was not the point. My post was in response to the title of the thread "Crowd Tomorrow", I wasn't trying to make anything more of it.

Geoff - there will be over 4000 there today which means a lot of people will have paid in - have faith.....
