I've just had a Text saying I've got Gallant Approach and Joe's Edge in the Sweep at work!!!! confised

Joe's Edge I think is one of the favourites!!!! :sweeeet:

I never understood why people make an annual bet on the one horse race that you have the most chance of losing on.

Here's the commentary....

"And as we start off it's ECG that's first to show, a good early start there, but there's a big group with him as we approach the first pint... and it's down, no trouble there.... then along comes Muttley, those little legs going nineteen to the dozen to keep up with the others but he's had plenty of practice... and we've just heard that Salty is already downing the fourth.... it's a real cavalry charge as we approach the kick off, pints downed all over the place apart from those that opted to stay at home with a bottle of Vodka, Salty's still well out in front though and here comes the Promotion Party, there's going to be a few sore heads in the morning, and here's Parmo coming up on the rails, oh but he's just serving a few pints not drinking them and that's him out of the running, and as we come along the home stretch and raise the elbow one last time the favourite's going to go all the way, and by some distance it's Salty who passes the winning post and I doubt he'll be sober for at least two days, a tremendous day's drinking from the window-cleaning drummer! What a homecoming that will be!"

I love the national.I very rarely win but then I only have a daft couple of quid. my missus has picked a horse in the first 4 the last 5 years,very annoying

In the sweep at work I've got 'Thisthatandtother' along with a non-runner, so I don't think I've got much chance. However, I've put a bet on Hedgehunter ('cos of the colours - green and yellow), Slim Pickings (again 'cos of the colours - blue and white) and a long shot Silver Birch !!
