Being fabulously wealthy, as well as a right ponce, I tend to favour Fentimans Rose Lemonade.

A pint of zero calories Red Bull and vodka - the diabetics' little helper. Not technically a soft drink once you've out the vodka in but when you're not allowed pudding you have to take your pleasures where you find them.

I don't like the rose lemonade but Fentiman's products are worth paying for. Their cola pisses all over Coke/Pepsi.

I used to love Lilt as a kid, not sure if you can still get it now though.

Can you still get dandelion and burdock? I used to love that. In the days when if you drank coke people looked at you like you were weird.

I never drink soft drinks as I hate all sweet things even chocolate, so my favourite so called soft drink is robinsons lemon squash. I have to really fancy it though other than that I just drink water or coffee if it's in the morning and not instant.

Anybody remember Cresta from the 1970's, adverts used to have a polar bear in sunglasses, slightly weird 'texture', if a drink can have texture, loved the pineapple flavour except that you used to get bits in the bottom that were uncannily like snot.

At one time most major towns had their own soft drinks purveyors/bottlers. Hartlepool had Guthries, Lowcocks was, I believe, based in Middlesbrough and Sunderland had Villa. My Gran always had Villa lemonade, usually served in some fantastic bakelite beakers. It's probably my memory playing tricks on me - but it tasted far better than todays fizzy, sugary stuff.

Good news - All Fentimans pop is superb and somebody I know just got a job working for them so it isn't even expensive anymore.

Bad news - I'm diabetic and they don't do sugar free versions so I can't even drink it when it is free.

Where are Fentimans from? They have been around since I was a lad; it was their delivery lorry we always bought off.
