My stepson had his phone pinched at school today and the lad was caught on camera and he got his phone back but his sim had been taken out and binned, they found it and it had been damaged and wont work in the phone.

The problem is there is a lot of photos on there of his dad who died a few month back and is devestated if he has lost them now, does anyone know if they can be saved somehow

Never heard of a SIM storing photos. They can only just hold about 30 SMS.
Unless there's a 2nd generation SIM I don't know about. I fear the worst.

The only hope you've got is if it's an iPhone or Android and automatic photo backup was turned on. Or Orange Clone Phone was installed which does something similar. Doesn't sound good though.

If you want to spend some money, everything on a hard drive can be undeleted. Not cheap though.

There is some storage space on a SIM but I wager hardly any people would know it and it's device dependant. Problem is as well when a new SIM is delivered it is a different SIM ID and stored items are normally lost. Hoping that they can be recovered if they were in the device.

If its any sort of Smartphone photos sure to be on the device and be recoverable.

Only exception will be Apple where they will be sat in some lil fluffy cloud with half eaten apple painted on it.

He had over 1400 photos on it and he got 400 odd back from the fluffy cloud but not one of his father sadx
