Why is it assumed that everybody is in thrall to the premiership? The F.A. (and the Football League) seems to be under the illusion that supporters of lower League Clubs would love to see their teams playing, for example, Stoke City stiffs rather than "the likes of" York City, Rochdale and Walsall. Bullshit. I rarely watch televised games but if Brechin City against Forfar Athletic was televised I'd give it a go, even if it was just for novelty/curiosity value. Anything's better than watching that twat John Terry lift another trophy.

The premiership is a global brand and whilst we might be satisfied with watching burton v Portsmouth, other countries want to watch the best players.

It's like a microcosm of modern society, a handfull get sickeningly rich while the rest can go to hell. I'd vote an astounding NO to having PL 'B teams' in such competition as doubt it would put that much more on the gate anyway.
