That IOR kindly, some would say incredibly generously, "wrote off" when TMH2014 were taking over The Club?

Has that now gone? What I'm asking is, are HUFC now "Debt Free"?

It's just flashed across my mind and I can't find the answer anywhere.

I think it will rear it`s head when the next group attempt a takeover!

Last I read was:

"But with the takeover now fallen through, the Clarence Road club is looking for new investment."

My take on the word "investment" is that anyone investing would be looking for a return on their money which could be put back into the club.

So if I wanted to invest 100k, I certainly would not want it swallowed up by this "debt"!

Might be worth approaching the club and asking what it would take to invest in the club and what would be needed before they handed the club over? I take it that the supporters' trust will be making a move for it to become fan owned?

I think once the Supporters Trust is set up and established, thats the first Question they will be asking The Club.

Unfortunately some clubs who have a supporters trust do not have a good dialogue with the clubs, 1 club is taking the trust to court!!

Did you know, every club has a supporter liaison person and ours is Sharon Rowntree, you contact her if you are an unhappy supporter, you know, pies are poor, beer is flat etc!

Yeah Sarah's spot-on. They all are down there without exception. Just normal people doing their jobs.

Oh God - bringing up the fantasy £14 million could be a 7 pager at least.

Given that IOR stated publicly that they had generously written of the £14 mill to facilitate TNH's new investment into the club, the logical assumption would be that the 'debt' still exists because TNH weren't judged fit and proper (by Ken) to take over the club, but that the offer to liquidate it is still on the table as an incentive for genuine new investors.

Surely it's not debt, it was a write down season by season covered by IOR.

It may prove to be the biggest stumbling block to a fan owned club....

I'd like to see the write down of this debt, not to mention the verification of the investment and the 'admin fee'.

It is really. It's paper debt far too much time and thought is given to it.

We will see. I happen to think its neing used to ensure someone gets a job when any takeover happens.

I've seen the balance sheets just before tmh took over, it was very much still there.

But it's not real debt or even real money as it is something that can't realistically or will be ever recalled.

Dibble does have a point though it can be used as a bargaining tool when selling the club as IOR can say 'we've put this much money in' so could either reclaim some of that in the cost of the club or include clauses in the actual sale. To actually get rid of Ken and Russ might take a bit more money than the £12.80 TMH had or a fans consortium could muster.

I have a Mountain-bike for sale on Gumtree, it's only £40 but it has debt's attached to it of over £450, needless to say it hasn't sold

Exactly, if its on the balance sheet then its still a debt! You will still be relying on the goodwill of IOR to waive any claim to it.
