So you only get points docked if you win or draw when the unregistered player plays? That doesn't seem right.

Don't the rules just say "ineligible player"?

Yeah. Must just be whether you win or lose. Or they just make it up probably.

They make it up as they go along by the looks of it. 2011 Torquay played Hereford Both teams fielded an ineligible player. Hereford won 3-1 and were deducted the 3 points they won from the game. Torquay were deducted one point. so the actual game resulted in a minus number of points. Not only did we get the 3 points deducted from the game we won against Brighton(Liddlegate, yes he was classed as ineligible) we were actually fined more than Mansfield. We were fined £10,000 although it was suspended

Every case is different, every result different, so I'd gather they make the punishment fit the crime.

There can only be three outcomes to a game. Therefore you set up a punishment for each outcome. And it same for everyone. We won lost 3 points so that rule if field ineligible player and win...if draw you lose 1 point if lose your fined £x amount of pounds. Do it again then harsher punishment . Can't see why can't be set punishment. We're not talking murder/manslughter are we.
