Firstly I apologise to PJ for starting a football related thread!

We must have amongst us the basis of a board, managers, solicitors, accountants etc, there must be a way of getting people together to discuss the way forward, without the usual barracking and insulting of people trying to get something proactive achieved in case the worst case scenario occurs?

Is anybody prepared to give up a few hours in an evening to meet and discuss the possibilities of going fan owned and invite the Darlo group to give us advice?

Problem is that this idea has been mooted quite a few times already and yet it seems nobody has taken the bull by the horns and done something about it, apart from one meeting on a friday afternoon when nobody else could attend. It all seemed to die a death, instead of progressing, when TMH came along. After all it was an ideal chance to get some involvement with the club had the takeover happened.
Now that TMH were found out for what they are you are back to square one with no progress on the fan owned idea. Unfortunately too many of you have been happy to sit back and do nothing while thinking others are doing something, or been happy just to let some other outsiders take over your club.
The longer you leave it, the harder it will get as more and more will become disillusioned with the whole situation and just walk away from it all. It seems to me the only thing that will wake some of you up to reality is if IOR did pull the plug and by then it could well be too late.
We got lucky when Reynolds landed us in the clarts that one of the men he owed money to realised that the only way to get that money back was to keep the club going. Our supporters trust wasn't in a position to take over the club at that stage despite being well advanced in its organisation. At the moment you have nothing organised at all and don't appear to have the people willing to commit to it either. That, to be honest, surprises me.

I think we are past needing a meeting. It just needs two or three individuals to go and do something, spread the word and hope it gains momentum. Pools fans will never be able to get together amicably and make decisions or agree to appoint people to head things up. To many opinions, egos and naysayers I'm afraid.

I think one of the first steps along this route is to gather as much advice/info/detail as possible from already existing fan run clubs...they is a few out there and i'm sure a wealth of knowledge to be gleamed ...

Rather than people keep offering advice, is there a couple of people who will put there head above the parapet and agree to meet to get the ball rolling, all the advice can come later!

Im all for committing time to this but Im not into wasting time generally, so would rather try and gather information about the way forward first, rather than turn up to some meeting where none of us have a clue what to say or do.

Chip if you are in the south you would have to meet me and my comments never seem to be 100% agreeable to you !

Seriously in the 45 years I have supported Pools one man has often run the club and in the 1980's there was a small board of Directors such as Michael Gough Snr the sports shop opening bat variety, a couple of second hand car dealers somebody Mulcaster springs to mind and Harold Hornsey.

In my life time it has been
Councillor John Curry
Ernest Ord
Vince Baker
John Smart
Gary Gibson
Harrold Hornsey
Ken Hodcroft who had one other member initially on his board the Principal of east Durham College a man called Prescott but Ken would of course have a casting vote!

The best bet remains one individual such as Cameron Douglas Hall son of Sir John with their willingness to involve a few others to help in day to day management in return for a realistic none salaried posts in administration and management of the club. He needs the semi retired with 'gold plated 'pensions.

There are some Mill house terraces regular chaps who could run it with their common sense approach, but the problem is everyone is really put off by the IOR alleged claim of £1m a year investment, but no accounts to verify. Are people seriously going to put their houses and families at risk!
