once again he was superb as a sub yesterday so why was he not on the bench on Saturday?

Personally I think he's won us a lot of points this season because his ball retention is so good and he keeps the ball in the oppositions half to stop them attacking.

I never thought the lad would make it, I always thought he was too puny but he has been fantastic over the last couple of months and hope there's more to come

I reckon him and Browny will be ace next season, simply because they won't be playing against rugby players.

And they will have had all summer to eat as many parmos/corned beef slices/Morrells pies/Verrills fish n chips as they can.

Whenever Foley comes on we seem to score. The lad has bags of talent, he just needs a chance to show it....

once again at barnet he was below ali gibb in the pecking order. once again when gibb and bullock started we looked uninspiring.and i agree that sometimes the best form of defence is attack.

fair play to wilson for rectifying things yesterday.

we scored within two minutes of Foley coming on, and definitely looked more comfortable.

For me, Wilson royally fucked up on Saturday which was strange seeing as he has been tactically superb in every game throughout the run.

I'm sure Danny will be in touch for a bit of advice.

I got your usual critical reply without actually giving an opinion of your own

As for Foley, I will play Devils advocate here, still think he's too lightweight watching him yesterday he was brushed off the ball several times and unless he develops physicallyand I'm referinng to body strength not height, he'll become the next Istead, the plucky little player who everyone thinks is gonna make it big ...I base my opinion on a different set of criteria to others.

Don't see how you can compare Foley and Istead based simply on their height - they are two completely different players. Istead didn't have single trick. He just put his head down and ran for the line, he had no awareness of what was around him, couldn't pass or shoot and always got booked. Foley has got everything apart from a bit of presence. He's never going to match anybody for strength but his pace will terrify most defenders, especially in league 1 and will be a great asset to come of the bench. He also seems to fit nicely into our style of play as he seems very aware of his role and that of other players in the team. he can pass and shoot and personally i don't think it will be very long before we start seeing Mr Foley starting to chip in with a few goals. The lad works hard and deserves them.

A lad I work with has a son who played a lot of youth football with a fair few number of Pools players past and present and he has always said that Foley was by far the best player that he saw play when he was watching his youngun.
