Cheltenham, York, Mansfield, Tranmere and Carlisle.

Things couldn't have gone much better tonight.

I am worried Plymouth might recall Marvin for fear of us catching them!

Great result....looking forward to coming up for the match on Saturday now.

Having said that, all the home games I've been to this season have been defeats. I haven't even seen a Pools goal...maybe I should stay away after all?

Scrappy game tonight Northampton didn't want to give us a game and after watching them and they have won 4 or 5 on the bounce and really 1 0 flattered them.
Looking at pools if we can keep Mirfin for the season we will have a chance in most games we now have to play.
Compton what ever we say best pools attacking pools player 2nite morgan took his goal well and when he gets a bit fitter him and fenwick should start giving us some goals.

Think Tshibola and Woods put in a right good shift in the middle.

A cracking win, battling display and Compton is partly forgiven, wish he would put in a shift every game like that.

Obvious Tshibola wasn't quite right but he was still immense. Everytime there's a loose ball he seems to be there to pick it up and Woods put some cracking tackles in. We have been used to either slow centre mids or ones who the opposition can just walk trough. Not anymore, and with hopefully Bates back behind them on Saturday, it's a very nicely balanced trio.

On the Northampton site they weren't hoping for much. 5 wins in 30 visits apparently. It's like us going to Brighton!

York n Carlisle to go down for me like. I will take a scrappy 1-0 win every time.....(as long as goal difference isn't a factor on final game of season).

Binghamnot even in bench for Mansfield. Wish we could have made a cheeky £50k bid or so before the window shut.

Ignore that, he was on the bench.

It's a lot healthier now we've stopped conceding 15 goals each half. If we get enough points to stay up I think the goal difference will take care of itself.

I was speaking to one of their fans, the other day, and he was absolutely convinced they're going down

Whatever Moore has said to Compton it seems to have done the trick. He was our best player going forward tonight and good to see him enjoying a bit of banter with the fans. It will be like a new signing if he plays like that on a regular basis.

Can he do it two games in a row though?

Will he get chance? If Fenwick, Bates are back to fitness the Ronnie has personnel and formation dilemmas ahead.

Scrappy game tonight but thoroughly deserved them 3 points we were solid at the back and woods and tshibola worked well together again. Compton gave a good account of himself and what he is capable of tonight too so hopefully he can carry that into Saturdays game. Just a shame about Harewood missing that 1st shot he had that he sliced half a mile wide and the 2nd chance he had I think his confidence was still shot. If Fenwick is fit on Saturday he will go straight into his place.

And our record at Northampton is even worse than their record here. Our last (and only) winning goal there was scored by Terry Bell!

Terry Bell!! I remember him. There used to be a poster on one of the boards called Terry Bells Fringe.....wonder what happened to him/her?

Agree with the comments about Compton, he was brilliant tonight and man of the match. The lad has great talent, but needs to stay of twitter and concentrate on keeping us up, as he can play a big part in the remainder of the season.

It's why Compton pisses me off so much he has genuine ability and would not be even at a club like Pools if he was mentally stronger. Credit to him tonight though everyone was ready to give him stick and he had a good game and put a shift in.

Mirfin and Harrison were outstanding neither put a foot wrong and will wake up with headaches. Keep Mirfin until May and we have a chance. Woods continues to impress, Tshibola is an outstanding footballer and his workrate is immense.

In the circumstances it has to be said that Ronnie Moore is doing a great job. We could realistically be 3 points from safety come Saturday and have averaged 2 points a game over the last 5, given the turmoil behind the scenes that is good going, if only he'd got the job in October we at the very least wouldn't be bottom now if fact I'm almost certain we wouldn't be in the bottom two.

Gotta agree with what Moore has just said in the Mail about Compton
“There is no doubting his ability, if he gets his head right then there’s a hell of a player there.”
