No don't think so Sussy I don't really know much about them to be honest just that the owner is a big Pools supporter.

I think it would be a consortium if it happens

I'm not really sure you need much money to "buy" Pools. IOR want out and, as stated during the TMH fiasco, the money they have put into the club over the last 15 years or so is effectively written off as operating costs.
There may be certain conditions such as the rumoured one about proceeds of future transfers (which should be refused, if IOR go they go for good. No conditions.) and there will be acquisition costs, legals etc. if IOR walk away at the end of May the immediate costs of paying wages and running costs through the close season will also need to be covered. I doubt there will be a lump sum to pay up front. IOR just want out and if they can pass on the club to new owners that can run the club and perhaps even invest in it then that's got to be a good thing.
Not an apologist for IOR (I'm still pissed off about the sacking of John Hughes and replacing him with Cooper and then Murray) but neither do I think Hodcroft and Green deserve some of the vitriol written here at times.

According to those stats they have £300K operating estimated shortfall..................... surely this is not the company buying Pools

Why would anyone after having a few ok years making a small profit. Then after hitting it lucky one year raking in £24m then go and buy a football club that will piss your profit away? I understand seasoned millionaires who are more comftable and have this money regularly year on year buying clubs but after one good trading year they must be fools.

The small profit may be the retained profit after shareholders dividends and directors salaries have been paid.

They wouldn't Mr Compo. Buying Pools would be a vanity project, same as IOR and same as TMH. Same for a lot of clubs. Short term interest nowadays.

They'd buy to attract investment. Not for the club, for their companies.

Wahey!!

So why did they buy Pools then? And why did they stop piling the cash in??

Howay man, you've got all the answers.

I'll be back on the 19th. I'm off to the Phillipines, Indonesia and Aus to watch the cricket.

3.

And the going rate is nowhere near £8m a pop so £24m is laughable.

Carry on.

Have been involved in a number of deals for wind turbines and land owners normally get paid up to £10k per megawatt per year.

Onshore turbines are normally 2-2.5 MW so £750k would be for all of them.

This is each year of course so just about the right amount to prop Pools up each season!

You were robbed!

We got £10k per MW on two separate deals with different turbine developers.

Either way not £20 odd million but a tidy sum per annum to give the likes of Ronnie a fighting chance.

We can only dream at the moment.
