What would happen in that scenario? Return of IOR? Hodcroft to come back and spend freely and save us from the drop

Nothing happens you just find someone else to front it and it will go through

I heard it hadn't been decided yet but it could explain why no money spent?

Also heard that it is still to go through. Must be fine, take Leeds as an example but it could explain the lack of spending

Can't see any money being spent. Not on transfer fees anyway. What exactly are you expecting money to be spent on?

Harris was at cash converters last week trying to pawn in a golden steamroller must have been included in the deal. Maybe he trying to get the best price for it?

Or they never intended to splash out any, at least on transfer fees.

Or they are prepared to back the manager if he can identify players that he wants who are available and don't get better offers. Not that straight forward given our position and it is starting to look like a couple of the loans might be good ones.

Don't get me wrong, the loanees look good, certainly an improvement. I personally think if we can get a few results together and improve our position slightly we'll also become that little bit more tempting to potential recruits.
I'm still open minded about the new owners and will remain so until at least the end of the transfer window but so far we've steadily improved the team using loan players and signs are certainly looking better.
Talking of potential signings, has Shola Ameobi been seen in any local hotels/bookies/supermarket salad bars yet?

Harris chose his words carefully in his programme notes. He said staying in League Two remained the priority but didn't suggest they'd be splashing the cash to achieve it.

That said, the result on Saturday might at least improve Moore's chances of landing a couple more of the right calibre of loan signings.

I said the other day but I just don't get it, why would you take over a club and then accept that it will be relegated to the 5th tier for the first time in it's history confised

If we manage to get out this mess, it certainly won't be down to the new owners banghead

People forget when they say first time in history, yes this is correct but if you count the 13 times we had to re-apply for realection we could have been down years ago if it was the same system it currently is now.

If ronnie can work his magic and keep us up without any funds from the owners then im sure bigger clubs will be wanting his services.
Time for tmh to show a bit of ambition its easier to overturn a 7 point defecit than win the conference!

Can't argue with that. The longer it goes on like this the more you wonder...

If i had bought pools and had money and ambition my gamble would be.........
Tell ronnie to get 6 decent players and offer them 25k each for 5 months work with a view to sign a contract at the end of the season if we remain in the football league.
What would the gamble pay think about it, if pools start going for it and start winning may be the crowds will increase and you would not lose the 750k for dropping out of the league.................

I don't think its just that simple to go out and find 6 decent players and get them to sign up for a relegation battle in our division. I think the owners want us to stay up without having to break the bank and risk being in a bad financial position for next season whatever league we're in

Makes sense...getting involved with football if you have no money! Especially a league two team on the way down with no major assets that would make such a move profitable.
I say name your 'very good sources'

There has been no formal notification to shareholders that the take over has happened. I would have thought that this would be a legal requirement. I seem to recall that when IOR took over they had to offer the same price to small shareholders as to the majority owner. It suggests to me that all the t's haven't been crossed and the i's dotted.

People have, as PJ said he probably lives in the North East and no harm going to watch a team he was affiliated with for the past 17 year.

I've heard nothing. A little windfall would be nice though. Could retire to the Bahamas perhaps.

Is their even any point of this fit and proper persons malarkey? It seems about as worthwhile as FFP.

I mean the rules can't be that stringent I heard last week that it was revealed in Birmingham City's AGM that the club was basically being ran from a prison cell in Hong Kong by Carson Yeung! Also the Leeds situation is a farce.
