Asking for us the tax payer to bail them out, the bastards have made billions over the years but now want government help.

There was a time when BP was 50% state owned. Seemed to work pretty well.

It's a nothing story though, because if you read it carefully it uses terms such as 'expects' and 'raises the concern' of losing jobs. The price of a barrel has fallen by half, whereas the price at the pump hasn't, they're just trying to force the government to stop the decreases, as in real terms it should be 70p a litre.

Im my own worst enemy at times cos i cant be arsed to fully explain, but here is a few bullet points
.............they have not asked the tax payer to bail them out
BP are no longer one of the big oil company's.
They where shafted by the gulf oil spill.
They do make a profit
they have to make a profit or they cannot re-invest (they currently have several projects on the go costing litterally billions)
Do oil companies make too much profit though? probably yes.
They are cutting back in some departments but are actually recruiting for offshore operational people.

And here is me thinking BP and other huge oil companies employed very clever people on massive salaries with huge bonuses that are there to predict oil prices and revenues. Maybe they only employ thick people on piss poor money.

The last people in the world I'll feep sorry for are the oil companies, or 'cuntanies' as I like to call them.
