Basketball!

They put the basket up so high so only giants can reach and then they just drop it in, real skill that like.Put the basket 20ft up then see how easy it is and the scores, it just goes from end to end, Fook me, Boring as.

The thing I don't get about Basketball is that both teams are going to end up scoring around 80+ points each, so why do people get excited about anything that happens in the first 3/4 of the game? It's like us cheering players scoring in the pre-match warmup.

I know all sports are essentially useless, but I have to agree that basketball is a serious contender for the uselessest.
I suppose the Harlem Globetrotters were entertaining, but that was more akin to acrobatics and juggling.

Has to be basketball, made for Giants who are slightly too tall to play netball. Plus, they have a sword which is a further hindrance on their netablling career.

On the topic of how shit American sports are, NASCAR. If I wanted to see a car go round in a circle thousands of times, I'd get the Scalextric out.

There's only two sports permitted in this house, football and women's beach volleyball.

Out of curiosity have you tried to get it? Also what don't you get?

Nfl once you understand what is happening is a very entertaining game and enjoyable to watch. A lot of thought goes into it.

Of course plenty of people will claim its shit as they don't understand it but nor have tried to understand it.

I'd guess that most people's grouse with American Football is that there's too much dead time. That's deliberate dead time, like the match had an off switch. It's like football's half time discussions every five minutes.

Take that away and I'm OK with the Sport. A huge variety of plays, explosive action in attack and in defence, decoys, feints, teams playing to their strengths, probing the opposition's weaknesses, total coordination between 11 players. The famous John Riggins final in 1983 was one of the most fascinating games I've ever watched, in any sport.

Aye I can understand people's lack of interest due to the stop start nature. I find it a great way to spend Sunday night with a beer and nachos and kicking back.

As you say the explosive action makes up for it imo. We spend minutes on end watching a football match do not a lot in terms of excitement yet are happy to do so. I'm not saying that's wrong btw as I also enjoy the slow build up in football it's just on the other hand American football doesn't really bother with slow build up they just take a break for 30 seconds and then go again.

I'm very much each to their own I just sometimes find the rationale behind not liking something interesting to hear as most the time in my experience it's because people are too lazy to understand something so dismiss it.
