Give us an example of a player who is good enough to command a transfer fee and that will join a club staring the Conference league in face?

Well if thats the case plenty of players in thw conference now who are league level would sign for us. I bet there is any amount of players out there would come here for a half decent wage

No good signing players that are no better than we already have.

that does bode the question though:

How the fuck do players worse than the current shambles get a trial.

And who is finding these even worse players

and how is that even possibke..

Giving someone a trial costs nothing. It's the only way to see if they are any good.

I never really understand when people start flapping about people coming on trial.

Who buzzed with excitement 10 years ago when some Aussie striker turned up on trial and Greek fella who played in goal? Trialists come and go all of the time from just about every club in the League.

What I want to know is what kids we can get in on loan, an avenue we really should have explored at some point this season.

They won't. Good players in the conference will be on more than most at Pools. It's hadly a step up coming to us at the moment.

I'm sure there will be players who would be willing to come but who are they and are they the sort of players we want.

I may be deluded - some would say I am - but I still believe there is money available. What we can't do though is waste it on players who are no better than what we have, if such players actually exist!

I think you're deluded Geoff.

If managers have money available they tend to spend it.

I think I must be - but I actually believe Moore when he says he has been turned down by x number of players. I have no reason (as yet) to disbelieve him.

Is the reason they are turning us down purely based on league position? Or could what we are actually offering to pay them have a part to play? It's all well and good talking to a player and him being keen, if at the end you offer less than he's on now he's not going to come here is he?

Posh Cars? It's probably Darragh MacAnthony sorting out a deal to sign Duckworth but not announcing it until end of Jan.

As I understand things, the sale of the club is still in the hands of the FL who have to carry out due diligence etc. in order to approve the sale and during this time there is some kind of ban on transfers.

That makes sense but if so why doesn't out chairman come out as and say so? Communication is what everyone craves.

Actually how come we can loan players then? I'm certain we must be paying at least something towards Bingham?

Its looking more likely Ronnies getting no money to spend.

That leaves us to bring 2 more loan players in plus any trialists or out of contract players.

I reckon the team spirit is back after last weeks performance and weve got the good experienced manager and brilliant fans. But not sure if thats good enough to retain our league status.

Yes the jury is still out on the new owners thats for sure!

What's more confusing here is in his first Pools World interview, Peter Harris said there would be money to spend. If they were aware of an alleged ban on transfers due to the due diligence procedure then they shouldn't have said there would be money to spend. It only makes me suspicious that it was tub thumping to get people through the gate.. but hopefully I'm wrong.

Right now I'd settle for some positive news on the loans front - especially if the couple more Ronnie wants in were signed till the end of the season.

Much as I'd like to get excited about the win last Saturday I remember what happened at the end of Pools' lat season of League One. Feb 26th we had a great win against Crewe, 3-0, and I remember thinking' that's us staying up.'

We didn't score a single goal in the next 8 games, Charlie Wyke and a few others went right off the boil and there wasn't enough quality in the squad to change things around.

Even if the current first 11 hits a purple patch, one look at the current bench tells you there's not enough ability there to keep it going for another 20-odd matches.

Its in the nortern echo that ronnies hoping to bring in an experienced centre forward on a permanent deal.
The player is in a contract dispute with his club he wants paying up his contract but his club wont pay up.Theres still a chance of getting him on loan.
Anybody heard any rumours of who he is?

I was told by somebody I trust absolutely but can't name because I only met him once and we were both pissed that we were offered the diminutive world beater on loan for the rest of the season. He wants out of Barca because Luis Suarez bit his arse in the showers and the manager just laughed about it. Ronnie turned it down because he favours a big lad up front playing as part of a rigid 442. According this bloke he said, "A fucking dwarf who plays in the hole is no use in a relegation scrap. This is no time for tippy-tapas football, I haven't got morcilla for a cock you know." FACT!
