Ok lets be honest, games away to the League Leaders, even if we were higher up table were never going to get us any points. Looking at the fixtures that are left, realistically if we can get some additional players in, where could we pick up the points? There are loads of rubbish teams in league and a run of 5/6 unbeaten games is not impossible at all:

Cheltenham (H) +3
Shrewsbury (A) 0
Tranmere (A) +1
Plymouth (H) +3
Portsmouth (A) +1
Northampton (H) +3
Stevenage (H) +3
Bury (A) +1
AFC Wimbledon (H) +3
Dag & Red (A) +3
Burton Albion (H) 0
Morecambe (A) +1
Oxford Utd (A) 0
Mansfield (H) +3
Cambridge Utd (H) +3
Newport County (A) 0
Southend United (H) +1
York (A) +3
Accrington Stanley(H) +3
Luton (A) 0
Exeter (H) +3
Carlisle (A) +3

Total 55 points!! Easy!! On a game by game basis that is not impossible - IF we get the right players in!!!!!

Fair play. However the actual events on grass will not closely resemble this

I can't see it happening, it won't either. Fair play though, lad. I've resigned myself to the inevitable, which if we want to have a crack at the conference, which has some big spenders and good teams in it, we're better off preparing ASAP.

Jesus Bob, you're certifiable, thats a season average of 82 points. So we go from worse than shite to promotion form overnight.

9 wins and 2 draws from from 12 home games.

Isn't this the team that has won 6 home games a season on average for the last 4 seasons.

Mmmmmm not going to happen is it?

To be fair, I didn't say we would do it - just how we could do it if we were to stay up!
I know current form doesn't suggest if it with we players in it is optimisable - that was more my point... The ' easy' was certainly tongue in cheek!!

Add to that I have been on Benilyn all week.....

We know what you've been on, Bob. Not that I can blame you. Hartlepool United has a habit of doing such things to vulnerable men.

10 points is a big enough challenge for us to gain for the rest of the season never mind over turn a 10 point deficit.

The majority of the squad are inept beyond belief and simply adding a couple of players is not going to suddenly rescue our season. Shit we could sign 11 of the championships best players and still struggle.

We need 36 points from 22 games to give us a hope in hell and then to somehow recover a -27 goal difference. I think it is at these times it is customary to suggest that we need snookers.

Cheltenham - +3

Just checked for form guide - in our last 13 games vs Cheltenham we have won 2 - they have won 8......

I'll be predicting a Cheltenham win on that one - despite their current run of matches.

I think we should concentrate on the fact we are in a mini league and so long as we finish 22nd then that is enough. 7 points behind Carlisle and a goal difference of 7. If we can make up them 7 points the goal difference will take care of itself.

We should be taking 1 game at a time so start with a point at Shrewsbury and take it from there. One thing is for certain that if we can play like we did yesterday for the rest of the season we have a chance.

Shrewsbury.. 2 points from their last possible 9.. 3 goals in their last 7 matches.. 0 goals in their last 3.. There is hope.

But we will no doubt lose

Players still required to have a sniff of staying up.
CENTRE FORWARD
RIGHT WINGER
GOALKEEPER
Try and keep tshibola for the rest of season.
I think we can catch carlisle then its finish above any one team from bottom ten.Portsmouth on a right bad run wouldent say they are safe yet.
The owners can play a massive part in keeping us up by backing ronnie and for me thats whats going to make or break us.

We've got to keep Tshibola- this is the priority. Absolute class. Moore's judgement has been spot on. All three loanees are doing the business. Fenwick was looking an increasingly great find so if he's out we do need another striker in. Minimum.

If we can fill up the loanies during the week then theres still a ray of hope.
I think ronnies slowly but surely getting the best out of what hes got to work with.
But somewhere down the line we gunna have to reel of 3 wins in a row twice before carlisle a big ask but not impossible as its the worst 4th division ever.

From Poolie Bobs predictions he has got 8/14 results correct. He predicted 25 points including the Mansfield game we have managed 22! 4 more wins, as Bob has predicted, and that may well be enough.
