Interesting that Porter and Raynes both turned us down earlier in the season before the loan window closed. No know Raynes is now out of favor with Oxford's total football philosophy of passing out from the back. Porter previously didn't fancy coming to the leagues worst club, if he has changed his mind that's great as he is a good player for this level

Myrie-Williams was always a great signing on footy manager. Get him signed

Fast exciting winger from what I remember, hopefully with a better end product than Franks.

Rumour has it they did, maybe because a team bottom of league football with a manager with absolutely no experience wasn't an attractive proposition?
That's why I'm happy we've got an experienced manager in for this transfer window, Ronnie Moore's reputation can only help with persuading players to join.

Maybe that's the case yes and maybe the other positive is the new owners are offering more money.

Regardless of why, we're able to attract better players and that's reason for optimism. Time to start believing and getting behind the team again.

Well id say if the new owners dont splash the cash before cheltenham next week then we know its a sham takeover.

Theres really no other spin u can put on it!

Precisely Chip. I'm still concerned and will be until it's all out in the open (probably the next of never) but I'm under no allusion, that IOR are still "involved", although it appears to be just until the end of the season £££.

I'm actually gutted nobody has signed permanently. I had high hopes and now im saddened again to the thought of non league football.

Lets look at the facts 3 in 3 out. Of these 3 1 is a striker from Mansfield town. If he was any good he would be getting a game for them to be fair. They ain't safe, only 5 points of the drop themselves. That signing makes no sense to me at all. Loans are sound for a short term fix. Some turn out good but we need people on the books playing for there futures.

Iv been looking forward to this day since the takeover and like the whole season its been a huge letdown.

I hope to god we didnt make a huge mistake by not getting the boxing guy and i dread to think that ior could still be involved and that's the reason why we never.

No way Becchio will drop to League Two. None.

Must say I am disappointed with what has been done so far - a forward from Mansfield who, if he plays well, will be instantly recalled, a centre half only signed on loan when I thought he'd sign permanently and a young midfielder for a month when it's experience we surely need.....that said, the window for permanent signings has only just opened and Moore says we've been knocked back by loads so it's not for the lack of trying. Also, I think Harrison will sign permanently if we stay up.

I think Moore will come good and bring a few in. Whether there's enough time for the new signings to gell is another matter altogether.

Oh yes and to be fair I haven't seen Tshibola play - could be exactly what we need.

I think I just expected something different to 3 young loan signings.

Need to be a bit more patient I think.

I wouldn`t think that they will sign anyone permanently, they did state that they would use the loan market in case they got relegated and that they had a plan in place for this, would you really expect to sign players on contracts in our predicament, get real people, this is how it is.

No. If the money is on offer and a few good signings are stated to be in the offing, players definitely will sign. Even if the spin is for next season. They definitely would sign. It is defeatist to say they won't. And actually downright wrong. If the cash is on the table then players will sign

Actual quotes from the owners that we weren't going to make any permanent signings?

He said they wanted to take advantage of the loan marker as they didn't want to be tied down to long contracts in the event of relegation.

The wording was that they would utilise the loan market to get us out of the poop, if it was your money, would you sign players on 2 year or 18 month contracts when there is a realistic chance we may go down?

They have a plan in place if that happens apparently!

So it wasn't said that we won't make any permanent singings then?

Harrison and Bingham are clearly with a longer term view, and if the likes of Raynes are signing it can't be on loan as he's had his contract terminated. So I'd have thought we will definately make some permanent signings, the window has only been open a few hours remember. You can always add clauses to contracts regarding relegation such as release clauses and wage drops.

Also Moore is an experienced manager he is not going to state in the press that he has money to spend, as other clubs will read it.

A 5 month contract with a good bonus for staying up should suit player and club.

We haven't really had any to make permanent signings for this game though.

We are away at Wycombe and were training in Oxford yesterday. The deal with this Raynes lad might be all but done but formalities like a medical and him having a look around the training ground stuff like that and registering the transfer in the three hour window it was open this morning to be eligible to play today was probably pushing it. I'm sure we'll see plenty of activity in the next week.

Don`t be getting your hopes too high, I would hate for you to be a realist like most of us
