As has been said millions of times over the last few years it was never real 'debt' was it? It was paper debt owed to the company that owned us. They were never realistically going to get that money back on there exit from the club. So they always had two choices; either ruin the club and put it into administration and become the sole creditor. They'd not have got much back and completely tarnished the name of IOR, or do what the they did, the decent thing and sell the club at a fair price. The chap at Darlo did the opposite which is why they are were they are now. Let's hope these new blokes are also responsible custodians of the club. Maybe if this situation had dragged on and nobody was interested in buying the club then things might have turned nasty.
