A woman at work told me she was walking a neighbour's dog as a favour, and whilst it was sniffing about in bushes as dogs do, started chewing on something. On closer inspection it turned out to be a used and knotted condom, which she managed to pull out of the dog's mouth before it swallowed it.

That got me thinking about the ones I used to find regularly on the Rec, nearly all of which had been knotted.

Why did/do people do that? If you're going to just hoy it away once you've got some dirty water off your chest, why go to the trouble of tying a knot in it?

Maybe it's just the work of one really prolific gadgie who loves a bit of al fresco coitus, but I think there's more to it than that.
