This is no surprise.

Most kids in hartlepool play in the Tesside league where this rule has applied forever.

Some teams chose to get round it by playing in the Russell Foster league, which is mainly a wearside area league.

Last season my younguns team had two players that joined Pro clubs on trial. One at Boro and one at Pools.

They then played Fulwell FC from Sunderland in the county cup.

Due to the rules our players could no longer play, but Fulwell had 4 players in the Sunderland academy, but they DID play.

It made the whole system unfair.

Its a stupid rule, but one thats been in place for ages in most areas.

By the way, The Russell Foster League is absolute dogshit anyway.

Oh and before anyone else gets on the outrage bus, its part of what I have been banging on about for ages.

Kids who go into the academies are lost to local junior football usually forever.

Oh, and I bet you a pound to a penny that that Seaton team joined the Russell foster league just to get round that rule.

But I love how the mail have run with this, despite 99% of kids playing football in Hartlepool having already been victims of this system for years.

On the ball again Hartlepool Mail.

Dont be wet.

Its the rule makers that ruin it. And the academies.

And the rule makers are usually the FA.

Dibbles right. There was a loophole for while when Pools was a Centre of Excellence rather than a academy but the Boro lot whinged and got the lads at Pools banned too.. );

The TJFA are renowned for not supporting Hartlepool based teams. A few seasons ago a lad I know was fined £30 for not being prepared to referee the game as away team manager when the ref failed to turn up.
He had been to a christening on the morning and was still wearing his suit, shirt and tie.
