'Backbone'......? It's a footy match... not a war.
Cheering on a sinking ship won't keep it afloat.

The reason people are swerving isn't because we aren't very good it's a stand at the reason why we aren't very good and the person who seems content with that. The person who had no plans to change the manager that's how little of a fuck he gives.

Nobody is going to have a go at you for going that's up to you but you should also show people making a stand, because they care, a bit of respect and not turn this into a slanging match were one group of fans is claiming to be better than the other.

Speak for yourself, I'm not going because we're playing crap. And it's a JPT game.

Basically there are numerous reasons people will or won't be going.

Again, totally up to you Klinger and perfectly understandable. But blokes who have supported Pools relatively speaking for about 10 minutes after they stopped going to Man United talking about 'backbone' when die hard Pools fans like Elvisc are making a stance, do me a fucking favour.

I haven't been to a game since September last year. The reason I haven't been is simple. The owners have taken my club away from me. When I get my club back, I will go again, not until.
Calling me names etc has no effect.
I have been called names before and, no doubt, will be called names again.
I really can't understand how anybody can't differentiate between me and the owners of Hartlepool United.
Everybody needs to focus on the root of the problem and it certainly ain't the fans.
I don't go anywhere else and I have not attended a footy match, of any description, since I walked out of the Vic.
I have voted with my feet and that is the form of protest I have chosen.
There will always be a Hartlepool United. The only imponderable is the position they occupy in the football pyramid.
I can wait.

As far as I'm aware the reason for the boycott is not to stop supporting pools, nor is it to turn their back on the club, but to try and highlight to the clueless chairman and owners that we are not happy and all is not well.

Its a JPT game - no season ticket holders will feel obliged to go - so by staying away for one game will show the strength of feeling towards the current situation - having a crowd of less than 1000 for a £10 game might help highlight the frustration we currently feel.

I was heading up for that game but will be giving it a miss now as I'm truly saddened at the demise and future prospects for the club

But I'll still be here in the future, whatever happens come May - supporting the lads as I have for the last 24 years....

Listen Mary, my shit has more spine in it than you have and why the fuck does it matter how long I have been going, I pay my money the same as you, the only difference is, I actually go to the game, go back to your flock :animals-sheep:

If we all refused to go when the team was bad none of us would have ended up Pools fans to start with!!!

The reason why many of us are not going is lack of support from the owners .. Even Carlisle's Manager knows they're out of order .. http://m.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/sport/foo ... -1-6881133. If I stopped going due to on the field performance i would've given up in the 80's

My point is it's easy to say 'I'm not going in protest' when in fact most fans aren't going because they just don't want to spend the money watching a bad team in a JPT game.
Judging by the last couple of home game protest there weren't many keen to join in.

I know as I said, any reason for not going tomorrow is perfectly understandable. But I don't see why those who are attending think they deserve a badge of honour for attending a football match and feel they have the right to criticise fellow supporters for making a choice. I don't see anyone who's not going having a go at anyone for attending.

Realistcally you aren't going to get the majority physically backing any protest. Some people just aren't like that. For that Newcastle home game the other week they had about 40,000 'sack Pardew' banners on seats, only about a quarter held them up. That doesn't mean 3 quarters of Newcastle fans think Pardew is doing a good job, I heard a bloke on the radio who said he's massively in the Pardew out camp but didn't agree with protesting during the game while you are meant to be getting behind the team. It's always going to be a minority thing.

Not true. Not in my case anyway.

The club is getting none of my cash until certain people are dumped.....and none of them are players.

I'll be supporting the boycott.

It's people who keep going that play into the hands of unscrupulous owners up and down the country. Our loyalty as football fans is taken for granted and it's about time that people take a stand. In our case, against our owners who feel that they can do the fuck they want now they already have a vast majority of ticket income for the rest of the season. The problem is we don't know what they want and they couldn't care to communicate that now they already have the readies in the bank. It's not about being shit, we can handle that. The club are not making any attempt to be better than that. A disgraceful way to treat your customers.

I think it's terrible the way we're now being run so they don't deserve a penny off me. There should be more boycotts by fans around the country as clubs are run into the ground for various agendas, mostly not favourable to their punters.

We are complete mugs with this blind loyalty bollocks.
