Not quite dead yet, but having suffered serious neglect over a number of years the end seems nigh.

A decent manager could get those same players performing better. FACT.

Agree, also where was the fight ?

No one even had the decency to get sent off for snapping someone ....

We can't give up though .... Its frustrating but sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to bounce back ..

I disagree. There's only probs a couple of them that aren't good enough.

Only a couple. Look at the bench. Do we have game changer on there?

Name 7 Hartlepool players that are good enough

I'll have a go at naming the players I believe are good enough for this level:

Duckworth
Flinders
Austin
Walker (although certainly not on his current form, hoping to god last season wasn't just a fluke)

err
probably Wyke

I'm out.

I'm thinking it wasn't that tough to miss the game.

Tough was going there to watch it.

Were there really over 3k home fans there today or are they just counting all of the season tickets as attendees?

The best bit was the Danny Dyer wannabe, who having entered the pitch after Carslisle scored their first, proceeded to 'offer out' the entire Millhouse terrace, whilst head butting thin air. Right queer Kunt him like.....

Nick Loughlin reckons that IOR are still backing Pools to the tune of £1.2 million per year as said on BBC Tees - where does he get these figures from?

When was that said?

I'm guessing it was about 2006 and you automatically assume everyone is like you and once it has been said you can not budge from that view until you've aired it several thousand times. At least.

Just a theory like.

It was said on BBC Tees at about 18.15.

As for budging on opinions, what opinions have I needed to budge on?

To be fair to johnny he's right Loughlin did say that on radio tonight. Not sure how he reckons that like. I'd like too see those figures he has seen.

Was a good radio interview till he mentioned that, he seemed to go into a slight defence of ior. Like they'd revoke his press pass if he spoke out against them.

Elvisc interview was excellent, from the heart, passionate and questioned the owners big time.

Anyone who thinks IOR have ploughed £1.2 million into the club in the last 12 months must be on glue. I cant think of a more idiotic statement for someone to make regarding the football club. Unless Ken and Russ get paid £1.2 million a year in wages.

The fact they still peddle this utter garbage shows their complete and utter contempt for their paying customer base.

There are fans runs clubs in this League with bigger and better squads than ours, they will also be paying a lot more in rental for their ground. Accrington have season ticket prices similar to ours, their match-day prices are lower, and they get crowds much smaller than us. Given they have a better squad than us does this mean their owners are ploughing in £3 million a season ?

I don't know, I am probably as pro-ior as anyone can be at these times but I'm astonished that a journalist is making this sort of sweeping statement with seemingly little or no evidence...

It's obvious that times are tight - I disagree with Mr Costello though its not 5 years of under investment... Also Cooper will never be a decent manager.

I would imagine IOR told Loughlin this. So he reported it.

Hes hardly an investigative journalist is he?

Just does as he is told.

In all the time that IOR have been owners of the club, we have been thanking them and Harold Hornsey for getting together and saving our club, and over the years maintaining Pools as a viable league club, for the majority of the time at the third tier. Our friends down the A66 have been praying for IOR to pull the plug, and predicting our demise to their level. Who would have thought that this situation would come about, while our 'saviours' are still in place? I know it almost certainly will not happen, but we really need King Ken to give us all an insight to IOR's thinking on the future of the club as he sees it,

OR FOR HIM AND HIS NORWEGIAN OWNERS TO JUST FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two things stood out for me :

The dumb mention of the £1.2 million per season horseshit, despite Russ Green saying numerous times recently that the club is now self-sufficient.

His bizarre comment that " Without IOR, Hartlepool United would not exist " This despite the club existing for 90 years without IOR before they took over. I thought that was a patently absurd thing to say. Does he honestly believe that if IOR left, the club would just fold and the 3,000 regulars would meekly accept it and find something else to do with their Saturday afternoons ?

I'd have loved too see hopes reporting during this period. He certainly pulled no punches over the last 3/4 seasons.

They have a much greater pool of players to pick from when it comes to transfers, having quite a few bigger clubs within easy commuting distance. Why else do you think Cooper spent most his time trying to sign smoggiest and mackems? Much easier to get them players in than it is to get players from the north west or yorkshire. There'll only be a handful in those areas who would consider travelling the extra distance and while you are propping up the league, attracting that handful is even harder.

It's an easy excuse but there must be clubs/players who would be prepared to help. Charlie Wyke was at Wimbledon last season while Matty Dolan and Jon Franks were both loaned to Yeovil while at Boro. So Middlesbrough were definitely prepared to send players further afield and their players were happy to go. I doubt they're the only club

I would think players choice and probably financial contribution to the wages will count too.

Because Boro and to a lesser extent Sunderland were prepared to loan him players for little or no financial contribution from Pools. Nothing to do with distance or location, it's an outdated theory .
