They will still try to take it. The only way to cancel it is to ring their customer support.

I only ever use the code to pay, sod letting them have my bank details.

Should never opt for the £5.99 a month its a complete rip off, go on Ebay and you can get 12 month subscription for £25. Saves you £50 a year.

i didn't have the money spare at the time so opted for the £5.99 a month.

Tried numerous times on the website to turn auto-renewal off but a convenient error appears every time.

Shocking really.

I divide my time between work, pissing about on the internet, listening to records and walking the dogs. Get just as much done as I would if I sat pretending to be focused all the time which is just as well - I'm self employed and I'd starve if all the farting about damaged my productivity.
