Just a thought but that was really not good we have absolutely no pace!
How's about when the opposition have a corner we put 1 or 2 players upfield then they will have to commit some defenders and the ball might not come straight back.

1 week and ticking and we are into it for real, I am trying not to but I am mow officially worried.

Reach tore us a new one when he came on because he has pace!!!! See any link Mr Cooper?

I agree, we have lacked pace for a long time now, especially through the middle.

How did Greening do?

We lacked everything. 2nd best to every ball, had no idea what to do with it when we had it. Very little shape or energy.

We looked completely out of our depth.

Apart from that, not too bad

We didn't lack pace last season, we had plenty in the team but the common opinion is we lacked experience and nous. Cooper signs a couple of experienced players and after a couple of utterly meaningless pre season friendlies we're being branded 'Dad's Army'

Fret ye not lads for all is well. Colin Cooper has a full 10 days before the opener at Stevenage to inject some pace into the squad, strengthen the central defence, bolster the midfield and introduce a couple of decent strikers. The benefits of having a former top 'keeper as player-coach will also be impacting on Molly Flinders by then. What is there left to worry about? (And we were branded 'Dad's Army' long ago so no change there).

I'd rather we managed to string a couple of passes together in meaningless friendlies, I reckon Cooper would agree.
People don't pay a tenner to watch players running about trying to get fit, a bit of footy would have been nice.

Cooper has banged on about 'technical spec' all pre season but that's two games in a row we barely had the ball to show/practice it
It and the game before we played mostly the kidNot so concerned really, just a couple of pictures show the start of the promo text so wasn't sure!s. Not ideal preparation IMO.

It's the reason I don't bother with them.

I decided a couple of years ago I wasn't going to bother with them anymore when we played well beating Sunderland and drawing with Boro playing some good stuff before going on to win one game before Christmas.

Meaningless.

Completely true of course.

One thing Cooper has said to have done is make them train heavy the day before matches so they start the match slightly fatigued, to try and improve fitness. If true, we'll only really see the results when the season starts.

Twas mianly poop. No pace, no creativity, struggling not to give the ball way. Semi-decent first half defensive showing -less so in the 2nd. Ned had a decent game, most didn't. Boro weren't great. We were worringly awful.
