Who used to be upfront for Cambridge with Trevor Benjamin? Seem to remember they had two decent strikers together?

Well I wouldnt for obvious reasons. Dont know why people dislike away day at cambridge its a nice city on the river and has loads of pubs and "posh sort" students flitting about all wanting to slum it with some fella. Granted the ground is a bit of a walk from centre and drinks are more closer to £4 a pint than £2. All I remember from Halifax is nearly getting my head smashed in by some copper and Geoff Horesfield tearing us a new arsehole.

Because Mr Parmo went to Oxford. He was cox in the Oxford boat in 1924.
Anyway, of the two, I would rather have Halifax back, although Gateshead is my first preference.
My first away game was at Redheugh park watching Pools v Gateshead. Embarrassingly I can't remember the score but their left back was Eric Oldham, who later played for us.

I like Cambridge for an away day, lots of decent pubs and eye candy as Compo mentioned. I'm a bit biased though - our lasses sister used to live there and we went to visit quite a lot and got to know it pretty well.

It'll have been this one, Mr D

Eric Oldham only played two games against us and the other was at the Vic

Aye, that'll be the one. Fancy not remembering 4-3.

Cambridges famous, or rather infamous forward line, under that awful man John Beck, was John Taylor and Dion Dublin.

When they use to build up the corners of the pitch and water heavily to stop the ball rolling out of play.

They played the long diagonal ball to their two lightning fast wingers, who just crossed the ball to their giant strikers, and they very nearly got in the premier league doing it.

Trevor Benjamin came after them and maybe played up front with John Taylor and then Martin Butler.

I always thought Trevor Benjamin was an absolutely brutally shit player. He never seemed score many for anyone and his only attribute seemed to be brute strength, like an even worse Ade Akinbyi, yes even worse.

Amazingly they both played in the Premier League.

Cambridge is a shit hole with non league facilities. The pubs are a canny hike and if your in the centre it takes an age to get to the ground either by taxi (cos its gridlocked) or walking. I've been there loads of times, we even flew down once, hiring a plane from teesside. It took an hour! Was back home for 6.30 saturday night. Bring on Halifax. Again back home for 6.30. saturday night!

One of my youngests cuddly toys is called Larkin. It's a lamb. One of those flat ones like a facecloth with a head in the corner. It gets chewed to fuck, just like his namesake used to.

Brown wouldn't come into the league with them I think (if they went up) - far too injury prone

I would say when playing he is good enough, but he is injury prone, surprised he has played so many game this season to be honest. Would have to pay back his insurance if wanted to play in Football League. Been done before but very rare.

That's what they said about Bradford City against Swansea in last season’s League Cup final.

And they were right!

But come on Heed.
