What would be progress?... For me we need to challenge for the auto promotion slots anything else would be embarrassing .

I agree, surely we cannot have become so bad that we have to strive for mid table football in League 2. I hope not.

Embarrassing?

Really?

What right do you think we have?

Yeah it should be the target, but embarrassing? What the fuck?

Yeah embarrassing is a strange word to use.

If we sell our best players this summer, don't replace them, and keep the oldies, then it'll be much the same as this year.

Hardly embarrassing but not great

Don't get relegated.

The rest of my predictions will be based on what happens with our own and others summer signings.

OK we'll stay shite ad infinitum .. In life and in sport 2nd best is never good enough ..You have to at least challenge yourself to do better than the last time if you want to move on

I think getting another 15-20 points would see us in or at least challenging for the play offs I think with improvement in the correct areas that is realistic and attainable. I'm not sure what would 'embarrassing' about that it would be progress.

What I meant it would be embarrassing if we don't target promotion through the automatic slots.. It was late and I'd had a few beers..

having a good side is cyclical for all clubs except the richest 8 or so in the country. Every other single club has to endure as much as 10 years of shite before getting 2, 3 or 4 decent years at which point the start of the shite cycle begins again

Fact of life for small clubs in the lower leagues

which is better than it used to be for Pools - 50 years of shite and 2 good seasons!!!

Top three would obviously be the priority but I would be more than happy with the play offs, even top ten wouldn't be a disaster as long as we can get some consistency and stay injury free. A slightly better start to the season than we had this year would be a huge bonus.

Stability and consistency for me. Net season will be the first where CC will have his chance to make it his team, with his players. I will be pleased with a top half/play offs finish, then build for a promotion push once CCs team has bedded.

Never forget that by definition, leagues being leagues an' all, most teams won't do anything remarkable in a season. That doesn't mean most teams have got it wrong; it means a few have got it a bit more right, and a few a bit less right, than the others.
Where exactly they went right or wrong is of course another matter.

Let's wait and see how the squad looks next year, we have escaped relegation by the skin of our cocks , and next season can expect the squad to be significant different

How well you think we do depends on how you rate Cooper and how you rate IORs capacity not to tie his shoelaces together before next years race begins
