They like to make sure we are aware of our place by reminding us the money spending league is the best in the world.

But now that they have succeeded in getting Ryan Giggs & his 92 team mates the managers job at Man Utd could they not shut the fuck up about them for a bit?

The league is in danger of being interesting to neutrals with a proper title race, competition for the top 4 and a proper relegation fight. Even Southampton deserve credit for getting back from league one to being one of the best sides in the country.

Anyone in possession of a tinfoil hat would probably think they were a bit upset at not being able to talk about that American Franchise Trafford so have engineered the whole thing and I'm fucking sick if it.

Going to need a bigger dug out with 93 managers on the sideline at Old Trafford tomorrow..

They'll be wanking themselves crazy if Beckham rocks up to watch.

Well if you are sick of it why harp on about it. I couldn't care less about the premiership and it's prima donnas. Some people on here go on and on about Man Utd etc etc. Just forget about them and concentrate on proper football and proper football teams. There will always be so called big clubs, whether it's Man Utd or some other outfit. By all means watch the premiership if that's what turns you on but there are more threads and posts on here about the premiership clubs and their plastic followers than there are about the football league. I would have thought that would sicken people more.

Even worse than the media; your modern day footballer.

Even at an enormous club, probably the biggest commercially in the World, they can get a manager sacked who is 10 months into a 6 year contract.

Most of the papers printed specific comments made from Moyes in the dressing room during various matches this season. Where do we suppose these leaks are coming from?

The biggest mugs of all are the fans who no doubt will given these same players a hero's ovation tomorrow and no doubt tonk Norwich the same players who've decided the want to put getting rid of someone ahead of winning.

You can't have sympathy for someone who's just received a £7,000,000 pay off but you don't have much of a chance when the people you are managing have more power than you. I read in the Echo about Joe Harvey ex Newcastle player and manager. In fact the last player and manager to win anything at Newcastle. Bob Moncur basically said the bloke couldn't even spell tactics but the players were shit scared of him and if you did anything to upset him and you were out. I suppose it meant the public weren't being short changed as every player was giving his all as he didn't want to face wrath of a bloke, a winner, like Harvey. Now someone like Wayne Rooney can use a bad season and a clubs vulnerability to screw a new £300,000 a week contract out of them and Robin Van Persie can decide he's going to play 20 games because he doesn't rate the manager and fancies being fresh for the World Cup. Yet mugs paying thousands for season tickets will blame Moyes when they all of a sudden these superstars start turning it on. It's the monster that's been created by these obscene wages.

I think you missed my point, what annoys me isn't big clubs, plastics or massive money chucked around but that when the football press should be full of stories about the teams fighting to win the league, qualify for Europe & avoid relegation they've focussed on an also ran team almost exclusively for a week.

And I agree 100% with PJ about the obscene power players have at all levels.

I reckon you could apply large chunks of PJ's point to L2 clubs.

Unless managers contracts are as tight as players and unless players are forced to rely on appearance bonuses for a really good wage things will only get worse.

Alex Ferguson in his pomp would have packed Rooney's bags if he played hardball over a contract, but the business and panic won.

Should have sold Rooney whilst they could, he's 28, past his peak in a year or 2 and now he's just going to get fat n slow.

no player is bigger than the club. Any player who displays insubordination in a team sport should be excluded until they fall into line

However most chairmen seem to side with the player and any others who join in on the conspiracy to remove a manager

Managers have never had so little influence -in fact the way it's going, there may not even be any managers in years to come!!! They do away with middle management in many walks of life, football is headed the same way, as daft as that may sound right now

If a manager exerts no influence, then he is not a manager - therefore you don't need him!!!

Power must be transferred back to managers, all this director of football bollocks who sign the players etc...it's a load of fucking shite

a lot of Players are generally thick in general life skills, so they need bringing into line - and they must not be allowed to dictate to managers

It happened at Pools with Neale Cooper, absolutely no doubt at all

These players today would not have survived in the game years ago

Newspapers print what they calculate will sell the most copies. I don't buy them and I very rarely read them.
Player power was evident over thirty years ago. It was player power that got Cloughie the sack at Leeds. No one was prepared to heed the warning signs then and now, apart from a major revolution which won't happen, it is out of hand.
The answer however is in the hands of the employers but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to do something about it. Talk about the tail wagging the dog.
I have still to get my head round the amount of money that is paid to the likes of Rooney. Obscene just doesn't cover it.

Somebody needs to get a grip on the situation, Mick but the question is who has got the guts??

I don't know who will be the first to stand up to it all and reverse the trend, but it's fair to say it seems along way off
