just looking at the ITMC site, and Accrington and MK and AFC Wimbledon are all (rightly) labelled as new clubs. But Aldershot and Newport aren't... is it cos they were just demoted? I honestly don't know the answer either!!!!

just noticed the Gateshead (modern) team matches versus them, we deffo played a friendly away in the 90's and drew 1-1 (I went to it). Nobbsy actually played for them, just after we had released him!!

Can't remember much about it other than that! Sorry!!

It's rock hard finding out about friendlies and stuff, I'm not even sure if it was classed as Pools reserves playing them!!!!

I thought Aldershot went pop?

Weren't they Aldershot United and are now Aldershot Town?

From the cobwebs, I seem to recall Newport County went bust, then a new team formed which eventually made their way up through the leagues to where they are now.
