Brighouse and Rastrick.
Most Scottish pipe bands.
Band of the Royal Marines.
I think a visit to the Edinburgh Tattoo is required.

So start something you think is more interesting instead of doing your daily dripping tap impersonation, eh?

Clue: Dont make it about Flinders.

Like Mr John, I pretty much saw everyone I wanted to because of 15 years of festival work.

I never got to see the Longpigs because they never lasted that long and I'd have liked to, but living down the road from Rock City and the wonderful Leadmill, plus the summer work, I was very lucky to see most of who I wanted.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to be shit and rich at the same time.

For me, Queen were technically very competent musicians who wrote and performed bad songs. Their motto, Brian May's in particular, seemed to be "why play when you can overplay"

But in order to accumulate the riches a large proportion of the population must like the music enough to buy it.

And granted some songs were bad but the majority were good.

I actually missed john deacon when they toured with Paul Rodgers

But you are spot on with Brian May .

Queen did seem to be a bit of a marmite band .

The Verve. Should have seen them supporting Ride in Boro in 1991, but the number 10 didn't turn up so we had to get the 227. It took about half an hour longer, so got there just as they were finishing their set.

They were known simply as Verve in those days, without a 'The'.

Lucky to have seen a big chunk of these bands..Birthday Party, Thin Lizzy, New Order, Roxy Music, The Smiths (7 or 8 times). The biggest band out of all the Punk/New Wave stuff I loved but didn't see at the time were The Buzzcocks. Saw them in the late 90's though and they were still superb.

New Order were dreadful "live".. The Smiths were ocassionally brilliant but he was VERY "huffy" and twice I saw him in 83-84 walk off stage during the first song. I actually though it was part of his act.

I watched a good DVD of The Cure from their last tour in 2013 on Saturday and was pleased to see them ripping through songs like "Object" from their first album, was really impressed and havent seen them for 30 years but on that evidence I would like to again.

I'd love to have seen Stone Roses circa 1990. I've still got bands on my to see list such as Frank Turner, Two Door Cinema Club, Biffy Clyro and Blink 182.

First time I saw them was at Reading and they were shite. They sent 30,000 people to the second stage and made Underworld famous. They were truly awful. Ash were second on the bill on the mainstage and blew them away and Ash weren't great either.

Waste of drugs that day.... sadx

Highlight was the tasty vegetable tempura, quid a kilo. I ate four quids worth. :-D

Saw the late, great Frank many years ago in Cumbria, can't remember if it was Cockermouth or Workington, went with three mates, one was a journalist (now the deputy news editor of the N Echo) who had been granted an interview with Frank after the gig. Kept his head on and stayed in character during the interview. The world needs more people like Frank, good harmless lunacy.

There was only two of them left by that point.

Yes, Mani and John Squires had gone by then. I'd waited years but by the third song I buggered off to the comedy stage.

Anyone in the US in May/June?

Doubt you would want to miss this gig... Morrissey, Tom Jones and Cliff Richard all on one stage.
