Watching the game today i got to discussing the Boro loanees performances. If we were given the option (obviously this is not realistic) would you do a swap...Luke James for Burgess and Williams?

Yes, I'd probably swap Williams on his own for Luke but all 3 will do for now.

Tough one. James has been excellent this season, almost a talisman with the amount of goals he has scored. Williams however is a class above, for me Championship standard. A season of Williams and we could be looking at Promotion form, the lad is that good.

i would bite your hand off for the deal. burgess is championship standard and williams could be even better. right at this minute i think the deal would help us kick on. that's not to say i don't rate little lukey, because he's got the potential to go all the way, with only his size being a hindrance.

Be good to see us putting the budget into wages that might keep Luke James and make the likes of these two think about playing for us next season rather than spunking it on an elderly marquee signing. Cooper has done well to spot them and the club should back him as far as they possibly can.

I think Cooper's influence bodes well for next season with regards to loan deals. Clubs will look and see how Cooper has done this season with the likes of Burgess, Dolan, Barmby and Williams, see that Pools are a good club to develop players, and be more willing to send them to us.

Oof.

James is top drawer and irreplaceable so a very hard topic. All 3 are better than average so 2/1 would me hard to turn down.

Dreading the day offers come in for James

Me too, especially if it's as low as the Baldwin fee and it's accepted.

Strikers tend to be higher like.

if it was a case of ....in order to attain both Burgess and Williams as permanent signings we would have to let Luke go - then we would have to do it

As hard as that would be to let a striker of high quality go, you have to look at the overall situation.

You are getting a ball playing centre back who is different class to any other single centre back in this division, and a centre midfielder of which you can say exactly the same.

Strikers are only as good as their supply line, and I feel that any striker would see plenty of the ball from a player as good as Williams

It's how I see it, anyway

On Colin Cooper, rarely can any of us have known such a manager at Pools with an eye for a talented player

He clearly understands what he wants throughout the game, and what he needs to do in training , and how to get the players to play for each other and carry out what he is clearly trying to achieve.. i.e. getting us to be a passing team, trying to play our way through opponents rather than the percentage bollocks that we've had to endure for years

Our biggest problem is not holding on to our players, it's keeping hold of Cooper. The players might come and go, but the quality of people coming in I am confident would be high, because Cooper knows what he is doing

If he left and we ended up with an Aidy Boothroyd type, I think I would actually cry

Who was the last centre half from the bottom division who got bought for half a mill or more before Baldwin?

Yes, two of the best players in the lower league for 1 of the others. If KH is offered this deal I hope he snaps Boro's arm off !!
