In the conference playoff positions , albeit having played a lot more games than their rivals

Would people like them to go up or prefer we didn't have competition for locally released players ?

Even if they end up in the same league as us, I still wouldn't see it or treat it as a derby game. Geographically it will be but I wouldn't get anywhere near the same buzz as the Darlo days... Suppose it would be a decent day out through Geordieland

Soft spot for Gateshead, but my feeling is think they will fall away towards end of season. Probably too early for them to come into the league. Need to get into their new ground and build up their support.

Its a bit desperate isnt it, to try and invent a derby?

If Gateshead got in the league we would play them anyway, so what difference would calling it a derby make?
