Do you want somewhere that is less than £4 a pint?

Farrars used to be excellent but has only been average the last couple of times we've been.

The Indian in Whitby Street whose name I can't remember (the one in Bianco's old gaff) used to be top notch but now I wouldn't feed a loid there.

Never ever had a bad meal at Marco Polo's though, but I'm struggling to think of where I will take the wife next time we go out as there aren't any top of the shop candidates jumping out.

Quite strange really as not so long back we had quite a few good restaurants to choose from.

Baan Thai on Church Street is lovely, a bit on the pricey side but they do special nights though. Worth a look all the same.

Alternatively Marina Pizza is cheap, I'm also sure they do London Pizza which will keep the southerners happy.

I have always been puzzled by the London Pizza. It's basically a Pizza with chips lobbed on top, which is lazy at best but then you get to the London bit? Chips on a Pizza hardly evokes images of Chas and Dave having a knees up. What the fuck has it got to do with London?

Where is Masala Lounge?

And seeing as part of the fun of going out is to have a good drink, how straight are the roads back from Metalbridge, are they at least straight enough to give me a chance of getting the car home without any major dents?

Masala Lounge, although a few on here have said the service can sometimes be slow. I have heard the Indians on the front at Seaton is very good as well. Failing that, the money you've got Dibbs you should be taking them to the Castle Eden Inn!

I think the number one ranked eatery in Hartlepool according to Trip
Advisor is a Chippy in Seaton. Also the people who write on it always strike me as sad fuckers. I remember once looking at a hotel abroad and some hell raiser was complaining of the bar still playing music at 10PM. You're on fucking holiday!!

The best restaurants I've been to recently have been The Grill on the Corner in Glasgow and the Ellora in Knowle where I'll be on Saturday.

Best restaurants in my neck of the woods, Chapters Hotel at Stokesley is first class, Bay Horse in Great Broughton does a great surf and turf and if you want to impress by size of steak try the Club Steak at the Dudley arms at Ingleby Greenhow, a bit further afield and still good food is the Haynes Arms on the A19, just south of the Osmotherly turn off. All worth the trip.

Don't make them drive all that way - meet them somewhere in the midlands. I can highly recommend a few in Nottingham - The Victoria in Beeston for the best pub scran ever, Kayal for excellent South Indian scran, Marrakesh for great Mediterranean/north African fayre, and Sukho in Beeston for amazing Thai food.

In Hartlepool they'll really appreciate proper fish and chips if they're southern. Take them for a sit down in what used to be Don Bees.

nobody that has any taste buds whatsoever will appreciate bloody fish and chips, no matter where they are from.

FACT.

Honestly, the love and need for fish and chips on this place is fucking nuts.

I am no foodie but even I know fish and chips are rank.

Maybe that is a little harsh.

Oddball or social outcast are probably fairer.

I've read one or two (thousand) comments over years suggesting you are slightly rotund. How did achieve this weight without three of the staples of any decent kite Fish and Chips, Gravy and Premium over priced Lager??

Unfortuantely the Red grill bar at Seaton has just closed down. That would have done you.

I agree with what Pj said earlier (for a change!) the Thai place on Church street is spot on. If it is a midweek meal though you best ring them first to make sure they are open.
