he is slowly building his match fitness. I thought he was markedly improved on Tuesday, he is going to cause problems for opponents when he is fully match fit

He clearly wants to do well, his geeing up the Town End when we got a corner... he must know he hasn't got many years left as a pro so he will want to make an impact on a personal level

Hopefully he will give Dagenham something to think about next week, he almost wriggled clear right at the end yesterday before the defender got it away

Got a feeling he'll get one this weekend coming!!

He's the polar opposite to Howard, never stops running, strong, good bit of skill on the ball. Once he gets one he'll get a bagful I reckon.

He's finding his feet on the pitch but what seems refreshing after Howard is his attitude. From trying to get the crowd going to constantly talking to his younger team mates.

He seems a good bloke who'll contribute to the club off the field as well as on.

that's the stage of his career he is at... he is now the one the younger players are going to look to on the pitch. Someone like him will relish that, to be able to make a difference to some younger players and their careers
In just 10 minutes he made a big difference on Saturday, just his presence on the field had them back pedalling.

I was worried they would nick an undeserved winner again (they've done that to us a few timers over the years) , but the introduction of Compton and Harewood made sure they hardly got out of their own half in the last 10 minutes. I'm wondering if the subs came too late, maybe even another 5 minutes we might have broken through, but I'm confident we'll start winning games soon

He's the player we hoped Steve Howard would be for us.

He put a good chance over the cross bar against Wimbledon after holding off the last defender, and he was fuming with himself, when he came off he shock hands (bumped fists!) with the manager and the subs then proceeded to punch the top of the dugout in disgust at his failure to grab a goal, he cares alright and he'll get goals.

I was suprised at how good his footwork is, I viewed as being a long ball player but he seems a decent all round player.

I was going to use this to turn this into a Howard thread, but others beat me to it!

From what everyone is saying, it'd be nice if he's got another season in him while Cooper is building his team. Am I right that he's currently here until the end of this season?

I like his style so far. Always like to see a player not happy to be subbed too...he WILL get a goal over the next couple of games I'm convinced. 1000% better than Howard. As ptbap says, we were right behind the dugout at Wimbledon and his reaction was good to see. I THINk hes got an 18 month deal, though I cant remember where I heard it.

At least he didn't get the same abuse he got in the Scunthorpe game as he did in his home debut from the usual fucktards accusing him of not trying.

Unbelievably, even 250 miles from home on a Winter Tuesday Night, he DID get a fair bit of abuse from the travelling not nice people.

Great signing for pools. Not sure why rodney gets his place on bench waste of funds never plays. What is going on? Need defence strengthened.

The club cannot carry people if he isnt good enough get rid. He must be 22/23 and we are bringing in young loans and starting them infront of him. Cannot understand it cooper has had him on the bench since start of season why? Williams is a great prospect

So he should drop off the bench until he learns to play. It should not be a right it should be earned. It should be an honour and should let another hungry player take his place.

teams like Burton, Chesterfield etc... the core of their squads have been together for a few years now, and they are ready to challenge for promotion, which they are

Pools squad is in its first season and I honestly expected us to struggle massively, especially with a brand new boss in his first job

The fact we have demonstrated we can play good football is beyond my expectations for this season, and by rights we ought to have had a few more points... but we will be even better next season, with the right additions to the core of the squad .... exactly what the other teams have been doing

This season was always going to be transitional, yes it's a bit alarming that even on 35 points in the 1st week of February we only sit 6 points above the drop zone... but that is because the teams in this league are evenly matched

I think we have made tremendous strides just to be where we are right now, with the prospect of getting even better and we are still definitely improving all the time

You can't say that about many other squads about the rate of improvement, they have stagnated or aren't improving as quickly as we are

Don't forget we had 2 points from the first 18.... this squad will have dips but the overall progress is clearly in the right direction
