Certainly was. He's in chipper form and has some cracking stories about his times at The Vic. My next few artcles are all interviews with ex-Pools keepers...anyone got any suggestions who they'd like to read about? Weve had some belters over the years....

Kevin Poole or jake kean. 2 loan players but would be interesting to see what they thought of pools

Martin hodge would probs be able to tell a story or 2!! Mooning the Rochdale fans was an achievement in itself

Ian McGukin - that would be pretty interesting. Used to enjoy watching him play. Fairly interesting times at the club then.

Broke that blokes leg in the pre-season friendly with the skunks who had Keegan as manager, who said it was one of the worst tackles he had ever seen.
Then he went to Fulham and Keegan turned up as their manager.

Made enough money in the high division to set himself up for life but never played for them much - I think.

My son told me earlier in the season, that his mam (my ex) who is some sort of community nurse, had during the course of her work been talking to a man who claimed to have been an ex pro footballer and had played for Hartlepool. I was keen to find out who it was and I asked my lad to try and find out. I am sure he came back to me with the name George Potter. If so Potter must be living in Swindon now?. Think he was a West Country lad anyway.

John Linacre was one of the most graceful wingers to don the Pools shirt. In a shit team ironically with some superb players
in it. Newton,Houchen,Lawrence etc. Unfortunately people like dodgy Fagan was also in that team.
The one story springs to mind about Martin Burleigh was from a Pools programme when he was playing. In the old days of
not many gyms around he used to use a towel to strengthen his upper body muscles. Thats why he was fat and there are
a lot of gyms around now!

Unfortunately Les Green died in July 2012.
Great keeper though. Only about 5 feet 8, so he probably would be considered too small these days, but he made up for a lack of height with great agility.

Ernest Rixon Phythian should be interviewed about just what the fook was going on with names in his family. Plus some other more obviously Pools related stuff.

Oh, yes. I was forgetting it was about interviews and thinking it was 'articles about'. It's Mr I's fault.

Was I having a nightmare or did Wayne Entwhistle turn out for us in the late 80s?

Yeah, under Moncur. When I interviewd Simon Grayson he mentioned him being at the club, in none-too complimentary terms.....and John Trewick.

Terry Bell and Bobby Cummings were heroes of mine when I was a chabby like. More recently, I reckon Gavin Strachan would give you a cracking interview.
