Went there today during my lunch break. Great exhibition of drawings/paintings by local artists John Edward Wigston and Robert Watson, well worth taking a look. Wigston tends to concentrate on things of a nautical/railway theme whereas Watson is very much about landscape , drawings/paintings of the Headland, Seaton and Newcastle etc. On until March. I thought there was some great stuff on display.

Shame the cafe is now closed due to cutbacks, god knows what any tourist would think of this.

I get in there quite often Ron, and like to climb the tower steps also to appreciate the view, although I think it's a pound now to do so.
As you say shame about the cafe, as it was quaint. Cutbacks are biting hard into arts and leisure funding, I'd love to know who sets these ridiculous figures councils are expected to 'save'.
Noticed on the local news tonight that Northumberland are considerng selling off their council offices (and land) to save £130 million over the next 4 years.
I'm sure groups of Coalition Ministers must gather around a table in Westminster somewhere and piss themselves laughing in coming up with these ridiculous amounts for 'Northern' councils.
