Acceptable?

Some people think it's ok to abuse a player mid game, maybe even make up a wee song.

It's not for me I don't think it's ever helped a player improve his game.

it is positively encouraged if he doesn't play for POOLS

He is therefore trying to ruin my day, therefore he is a legitimate target

Yeah that's fine.

Abusing your own players just seems daft to me.

Each to their own like

Even Howard!!!!

I thought Walton was better than Dolan yesterday anyway to counteract the mill house boo boys. It was all love in the town end though!!

I had 2 seasons in the mill house terrace up until last season. I stood right on the half way line because I liked to watch the midfield battle and get a decent view of both goalmouths. Returned to the town end again this year. Couldn't put up with the negative mindless arseholes screaming abuse at what are supposed to be players they are there to support. Granted its a small minority but it was either a return to the town end or coming to games with earphones on.

To be honest the last time I recall any racist chants in the town end was sometime in the Mid 90s against Scarborough in a cup game. I'll have been about 14. There was lots of monkey chanting directed at one or two of there players. i'm sure Brian Horne scored a penalty that night but remember coming home and feeling very embarrassed to be a pools fan even though we won on penalties

Agree with whoever said Walton was better than Dolan but once Walton went off, Dolan upped his game. They still too similar for my liking and i think we would see better from both of them by having a different type of player alongside them.

If Walton wants to take on the Millhouse Terrace there will onlybe one winner. And he will be remembered as a reasonable player who never worked hard enough to realise his full potential. And compton needs to stop playing BillyBig Bollocks and work at his game or he will be looking for a new club next season. This run of games without na win is getting worrying. January 1 can't come quick enough, two strikers to start with on the wages of Hartley and Howard.

Your right there bil, the mill house know best, they've finished off the careers of players better than walton.

Look at robson n easter, hardly done owt since they've left here have they!

This is a poolie disease.

And seems to infect the millhouse side of the ground much more than the rest.

And what exactly is meant by never works hard enough?

Not everyone has to run round like a headless chicken.

Walton isnt the best player to ever grace the Vic, but he can spot a pass, and generally keeps the ball well.

Yet a few years ago, most loved Larkin, who ran himslef into the ground, but couldnt pass wind.

Thus proving that most mill housers couldnt spot a decent player in a million years.

Merry Christmas.

Robson journeyman player at a League One club. Easter had more clubs than Rory McIlroy and scores as few goals as him. To richie's point I would have two strikers to help Luke and not replace him. He cant play in every game with his physique. As for the Compton comment this was the guy who was on a yellow card on Saturday and then sarcastically applauded a lino's decision which should have brought him another yellow and a red. The ref decided to take no action which proves that not all refs are against us.

I think it's stretching the truth a tad to say "most loved Larkin". I have issues with the first of those three words, and the second.

Can we replace "most" with "quite a lot", and "loved" with "appreciated the commitment of"? If we can add "despite his borderline comical lack of end product" to the end then we have a workable sentence.

will you please stop pulling my unreasonable rants to pieces please?

I could readily accept that there is a possibility that Larkin's missus might love him but I have to admit I have never heard anyone else intimate such.
Merry Christmas to you.

For me Walton has gone back to being his usual self the last few games, minimal effort and not playing anywhere other than the centre circle.
Walker replaced him and within a couple of minutes got into a position on the edge of their box to score the equaliser.
Time to play Walker from the start I reckon.

If you consider mediocre to be decent then maybe, I can't really think of anything he did.
Monkhouse was decent, always an outlet and involved in the game and should have got himself a goal. I think we'd struggle if we didn't have him in the team.

Walton was tidy in possesion and didn't give the ball away much I think he was having a better game the Dolan. Dolan gets forward more and has better set peace delivery though.

The substitution was the right one but he was alright.

Monkhouse probably had his poorest home game of the season on Saturday he only really came into the game in the last 20 minutes when we went a bit more direct.

.......................Flinders.......................

Duckworth...Baldwin...Burgess...Austin

Franks.....Dolan......Walker.....Compton

.............Monkhouse......James.............

Duckworth appears to work better with Franks
James and Monkhouse work very well together up front.
Dolan sits while Walker attacks.

Simple.

He doesn't do enough, often enough for him to warrant a place in the starting XI.

I'm sure Walton sobbed his heart out after the brain surgeon had a go at him. I stand right next to the lad in question every week amongst other posters on here and his football knowledge is second to none. He tells all the players where to run/stand throughout the game along with a running commentary. Massive talent wasted really.
