Why did the article have to start with this:

As the Club continues to find ways to reduce its overhead costs stpid

No thanks for all his efforts or we wish him well? Anybody would think he was a lazy twat who had taken the club for a ride.

It might be too soon for him to play at that level, he needs a spell in the Championship first.

Clearly to stop fans thinking we're suddenly going to go out and sign 3 players with the money saved.

To be fair if we played in Sheffield every week he would have probably been a great signing.

It only be some % as well though wont it. Whatever has been paid to him is still part of the budget, not full amount of course, so I wouldn't expect any newcomer.

I hope the fans have more sense than to expect new players.

We aonly need new players that Cooper wants.

Our fans arent that daft to suggest otherwise, surely?

What about if he say had a high appearence/goal bonus? Would that have been included in our budgets etc?

If his wage was linked to goals scored the bloke has probably left so he can sign on.

Do we have to presume the club gave up any hope of one of the 'many' offers Howard had coming through in January then?

Love the quotes on the official site, pretty much sums up the situation they were in.

Howard "I would like to thank everyone at the club for their help and understanding"

Pools "the club would like to thanks Steve for his services and his agreement to leave"

Edited for accuracy...

Pools "Thanks for fooking off"

Howard "Thanks fo understanding that I wasn't going to welcome to the board for free"

I'd like to suggest to Pools that they use this opportunity to sign James, Baldwin, Walker and Duckworth up to 5 year deals.

1) Sweeney
2) Rodney
3) Holden

Lets go

He is very raw but if he's keeping Compton happy then he's worth his place in the squad. An impressive afternoon for Compton on Saturday, tore there defence apart time and time again
