I know Russ is a busy man looking at ways to get a few bob together for new recruits. But when he has a spare five minutes would it be possible for him go on the official site and confirm whose decision it was to offer contract extensions to Collins and Monkhouse. And who sanctioned it.
Whether he realises it or not these two drawing a wage is preventing our manager strengthening the squad. And we have got the situation were Coops is having to ask clubs to loan us players and to pay their wages for us.
This is going back to the bad old days of us bouncing cheques and being made to look a laughing stock.
And when Hodcroft took over he told us those days were long gone.

a lot of it probably stems from DNO and IOR falling out.

He is exactly how I'd imagine somebody called Berge Larsen would look like

i think Larsen had a lot of his assets frozen by the authorities when they were investigating him for christ know what, dont know if thats still ongoing, there was talk of him going to court over it. I imagine its all played a role in the reduction of financial help from IOR.

Yeah them 4 goals monkhouse scored when we were already relegated were a big help to us katcha.

If you think monkhouse is good enough to play at this level then your on another planet.

Monkhouse in come to life when contracts are being discussed shocker!

His contract was given to him by 2 men with no football knowledge at all.

Nuff said

Look they have the deals. They are at the club. In correct position they will be competent players. There is no evidence to the contrary at this level. Happy to review this later during the season.

Collins proved that at Rochdale.

Collins was abysmal at rochdale, best defender last season really?? Was anybody good enough to deserve that award. Our keeper was player of the year because he had an awful lot to do not because he made the occasional save. The entire defence were poor but horwood took the blame. Collins is too slow to be a professional footballer

Monkhouse scored 7 goals in 35 games, of which he only started 20.

Thats impressive enough considering our horrific season. Saying the last 4 goals don't count is as fucking stupid as saying Penalties don't.

He has ability, but he's inconsistent. He is a decent option to have in the squad.

Don't get me wrong i'd have scattered him, but he's here and i'm not going to cry over it.

i never said they didnt count, but they came when we were already down, so they were pointless, banging a few in then was absolutely meaningless.

So he got 3 goals when it mattered, the other 4 counted for fuck all.

Everyone loves a smart arse katcha.

At the end of the season there would have been no complaints over collins n monkhouse getting released, along with a few others too.

If they've got their heads down n worked hard this year then fair play to them, i'll support anyone whose giving 100% at this club.

Well, OK, but wouldn't those who had agreed with their release been just as wrong as you? I'd have said they were badly managed, not useless and the much reviled Hodcroft and Green put the situation right so far.

Bless you yubep . I was looking at some trash posted close and early season as well, it's a right laugh. Some folk on now slicing bread with have threw the loaf out months back. I said I would review I did. I it were other way round, I would have yielded.

I feel for those affected enough by close season etc who decided not to attend any more. Weird. Look at what they missing now.

Did I expect much from Monkhouse ? That is a very good question Chip. I didn't expect what he has done so far but thought he could do it if he put his mind to it and I think most would say just that. The saying "A riddle wrapped up in an enigma" could be used to describe Monkhouse. And as you say he's got rid of the inconsistency that is Monkhouse.

Him being kept on although a surprise wasn't a shock as such. Horwood being released was more of a shock. whatever Cooper/Hignett have said/done to/for Monkhouse is working and long may it do so.
