It's been a while but this gave me a chuckle...

http://www.yellowsforum.proboards.com/t ... s-red-card

Quote:
Just seen Big Stevie Howard's sending off on Sky.

It was a leg breaker - a cowardly attempt to tackle a player
and Scott Davies is lucky that he is not in hospital tonight.

Quote:
Howard is a big lad and probably not getting any quicker but the tackle was horrific for an experienced pro.

Quote:
If you read Hartlepool match report's reference to the tackle, it basically makes it sound like we conned the ref. Can't believe some clubs conduct themselves with such unprofessionalism.

Quote:
The Hartlepool report is unprofessional. Was it written by a ten year old kid?

They say Howard's dismissal was "dubious" and that Johnny Mullins squealed.

The referee was spot on with the red card and I repeat -
Scott Davies was lucky his leg was not broken.

Quote:
Just seen it on the FLS

Disgusting challenge! I am in genuine disbelief that they found a way to complain about that decision

Hilarious stuff.

They conned the ref for the second time in a couple of minutes.

Didn't see the incident properly yesterday and not seen it yet on tv, what I did see though was their player playing dead till Howard was sent off then doing a Lazarus impression with a miraculous recovery.

Anything that stops howard from playing is fine by me. It looked like attempted murder if any police are reading the board.

I was on the Mill House side, it looked like Howard gave his shirt to a kid as he went off, did anyone else see it or was it just wishful thinking in the hope that he's had enough ?

we should be so lucky.... anyway as someone else already said, it doesn't necessarily follow that IOR will allow Cooper the savings to spend on the team

I got shot down in the past for saying it doesn't matter to them what division we are in, league or non league. Nothing changes for them... they don't care!!!!! Only the fans do!!!!

Just been watching it on the highlights and the ref whips the red out immediately so why their lad bothered feigning death is beyond me. Didn't look like Howard had any intent but he lunged and had his foot off the floor when he made contact and most refs will send you off for that nowadays.

Oxford fans have always been a pack of obnoxious not nice people so nothing we can do to change that. It must also be one of the shittest away days in the country.

Agree with that I lived there for three years. The ground is a crap soul-less three sided identi-kit stadium on the edge of the science park out of the city. No boozer next to it of any worth with only the cinema complex for miles around.
