Apart from the Bradford game I think luke as looked light weight so far, tends to run out wide when he as the ball and easily dispossessed or shoved off the ball. Would like to see him come more into the centre and take the defenders on coming from inside.

James is a strange one this season. Just seems to be a bit off the pace whenever I've seen him (missed the Bradford game). Doesn't seem to be alert to some of the moves taking place, often caught on his heels when the ball is played to him.

the thing is tho is that even when james is off the pace he still puts pressure on defenders so the ball is not coming straight back at our defence..the exact opposite happens when howard is on the field

The fact is we didn't have any movement up front. That has been resolved by playing Monkhouse and James. Monkhouse was by far our best player yesterday, James works hard closing defenders down and although he is lightweight he does bring something to the side.

Yeh totally agree with what your saying, I think he is more effective running onto through balls than actually trying to take people on and yes he does put defenders under pressure. However I still think at this moment in time we haven't seen the best of him .

James has got a lot more to come I'm sure... give him the ball in the right areas, into feet, into a little bit of space where it becomes a chase to the ball between him and a 6foot 4 centre half... he got lots of joy running the cghannels against Bradford and picking up possession and dragging defenders out wide. That's what forward play should be about

James is worth sticking with - its not as if we have many options anyway at the moment. We all know Poole has talent but with Luke James you are guaranteed 100% commitment, nuisance value and a high work rate. Rodney hasn't been given much of a chance so far so we will have to wait and see how he turns out.
