Just looking on John's site for 25th March to see what craic was and it'll be 3 years since Harold H passed away.

also 110 years since mad jack o'donell was born who played for both clubs but was a bit loopy to say the least.

also we've lost the last 6 times we played on this date.

however in 1978 we won one (darlo 2-1 by the way)

i wish it was an 11 oclock kick off today - get it out of the way - got two more sleeps to go still.

Maitland and Downing had been at each other all match. Eventually they were sent off after one fight too many, then Maitland took his black armband off and threw it to the floor. Disgraceful episode and one that sparked off real violence on the terraces.

I heard a while after that Newton and Maitland had played against each other (for two other clubs) and Newton had had a "Friendly" word pre-kick off but I don't know how true it was!
