3pm get up to New Ferens Park in Durham. Gateshead play SPL newcomers Partick Thistle.

The Heed have got Ben Clark, James Brown, Colin Larkin

Also Phil Turnbull, Joe Tait and Richard Brodie who should of signed for us! oh and Lee Bollock is on trial with them.

Bit of an ex Pools reunion!

3 pm kick off, I think it is £10 and £5 concessions? Durham City's website wont open, got prices off Particks.

Should be a reasonable early pre season friendly and 10 minutes from my house!

Well, I went. Didn't notice you'd said it was a tenner for a Heed friendly.

Was good to see James Brown again and the first half was interesting, especially their second goal.

It was a bit tedious by the second half Mr G, glad we didn't sign Brodie on that showing-like the look of their James Marwood who got the first goal.

Partick were awful, sat with a load of their fans who weren't very impressed.

On that showing I suspect Gateshead are in for a long season-Gillies gone to Carlisle is a big hole to fill- Stephen Turnbull's horrendous pass straight to the opposition who scored was the main highlight. Don't know what you thought Mr G?

Never mind, deluded. I've been called worse.

But I just realised on Saturday that football is actually a very boring game, unless it's at Messi level.

If you support one of the teams, that masks the tedium, but if you don't really care who wins, it's just very boring.
ps I thought Marwood scored the second goal? To add to the confusion, he's supposed to have left the Heed, isn't he? sctatchinghead

James Marwood rejected the Heeds contract offer, and is now training with them, I would guess at somebody was coming in for him and they didn't-looks useful to me and he did get the second goal.

Agreed I didn't really care by the end who won but if that's an SPL team I'm glad a support a lowly L2 side!

I think the issue of boredom is that its a friendly.

A bit like Pools v Middlesbrough.

or Bournemouth v Real Madrid.

They just dont matter in any way whatsoever.

They are just practice matches. Not much better than a training session.

Its the reason why I think people must have part of their brain broken when they pay over the odds to attend.
