There are quite a few compilation videos on youtube of our goals, from 90's onwards

And d'ye know what, he's right. That Brian Honour goal at Maidstone, Bakes' overhead kick, the career highlights of Nicholas Peverell Esq.

I'm sure that among the whole universe of Poolie cupboards, drawers, boxes in loft, etc. there must be a huge volume of Pools footage just desperate to be shown to the world. We've recently seen unearthed footage from 1958, and the 1968 promotion day. Christ, if that still survives, then surely somebody must have Barrie Wardrobe's goal against Crewe gathering dust in their, erm, wardrobe. I've certainly got that Honour Maidstone goal in all of its "taped-off-telly and transferred to dvd" glory.

Not sure what exactly I'm asking here, and I'm not sure how feasible anything is. Copyright is not something I know much about. Without treading on anybody's toes, and certainly without upsetting anybody at HUFC, what can be done about getting some of this lovely stuff out onto this interweb thingy? I've got a bunch of footage myself, match videos/dvds though most are quite recent and would probably be a no-no.

If anyone can find a question in there, feel free to answer or ignore it? Or if anybody can think of a more coherent question along similar lines, that would work too.

Im quite sure the footage would be property of Tyne Tees tv rather than HUFC. HUFC's only claim could possibly be in relation to the usage of a trade mark in the footage, if showing the clubs badge.

Tyne Tees would not care a bit if a fan made a compilation dvd unless it was done to make money (in which case they may want royalties) or would financially harm them (ie consumers more likely to purchase an unofficial product) or if the dvd would damage their reputation in someway.

I've long thought that it would be a great idea for there to be a concerted effort to get some 'old gold' video up onto youtube. Currently there are only 3 whole matches. Spurs, Sheff Wed and Northampton.

Can we assemble a list of who's got what. I think to avoid annoying HUFC it would probably be best to stick to pre- IOR - ie pre 1997.

Who has got which games on dusty VHS cassettes?

And who can tell us the best way to render them up onto youtube? I'm about to come into a fortnight's paternity leave and have a working video and laptop. I'll put some up. What else would I need ? Which software would people recommend?

Could we have a separate match video forum with youtube links? Or is there a better solution than youtube?

Any answers appreciated.

I'm sure someone knocked out a DVD of old goals (well, early
to mid 90's) on here a few years ago. I bought one can't remember who it was though!

A decent alternative to YouTube is DailyMotion (if for some reason YouTube is considered undesirable).
It doesn't belong to a multinational giant so tends to be a bit less picky about content, if you see what I mean wink wink nod nod.

People used to tape the back page religiously, this is a great idea.
