HORRIFIED onlookers watched as a naked man ran down the street with a knife before cutting off his own penis.

The unnamed 43-year-old came to a halt down a residential street in Penryn, Cornwall, before stopping to hack off his most vital organ.

He then collapsed before emergency services rushed to the scene.

Two women witnessed the incident, and ran into a local house where the police were called.

According to The Falmouth Packet, the man may suffer from a mental health condition.

A police spokesman told Huffington Post: "It was clear that the injuries inflicted were very serious due to the amount of blood found at the location."

The man's injuries were not life-threatening and he is now in a stable condition in hospital.

'May' suffer from a mental condition. I don't think there is much doubt about it.
